I just installed the update for java for my mac and now I can't run a java app and other stuff keeps crashing too. If i cant get this fixed, I am going to schedule an appointment and if they give me crap about being out of warranty then I am going to raise my voice and demand they fix it until I'm screaming.

Accent Advice

As I move forward with the Lock of Golden Hair, one challenge the main character, (Steve), will have to face is thinking in another language.

In order to communicate with his family and classmates he will translate to English and then speak.

As such, he will speak with an accent.

I want to convey this to the reader without making it really annoying to read. Any suggestions?

My muse has been bugging me about my story "Trial of the Phoenix". What seems to be coming to my mind is either the beginning of a new story, or an epilogue to that one. The question I have is, which would you do if it was your story? Add to the current story, or start another?

I'm sorry to confirm that my suspicions were correct last night and Gabi was found dead by the neighbours I'd asked to check on her. I don't yet know cause of death, but I suspect that it was a heart attack.

I have lost a dear friend and very good editor. I'm just hoping I can get to the funeral as it's a couple of hour's drive from here.

My commiserations to all her e-friends on this site who will be very saddened by this news at least I had the pleasure of meeting Gabi a couple of times and hundreds of hours of telephone conversations.

I was originally going to write my Green Arrow sequel next but it looks like my Red Devil story was a little more popular than I thought and numerous people have asked me to continue it. So I'm going to write a few more chapters of ot until I find a satisfying conclusion. After that I'll move onto the further adventures of Olivia Queen. I've already created a Title Page for the story and am hard at work on a next chapter and changed some of the perimeters on my first part to match. It should be up soon, maybe in a day or two.

Now I've got to get back to my game and finish playing :)

As part of the continuing saga of computer woes, I have been completely unable to find a phone number for Norton. There is the Norton Community Forum, but so far the posts there are mostly complaining about Norton's unresponsiveness to their problems. Did the founder of the company sell out or something? Maybe I should buy a Mac?

This Saturday also marked an important event on the Clan Wells Point calendar. As the work wound up on the main farmhouse, the new residents began moving in. The attic suite was finished first so Kylie and Larry moved into the suite while Kylie's mom, Eveyln Masters, moved into her second floor bedroom. Tony and his mom, Rachel, would move in the day before Thanksgiving.

Wow.

Friday afternoon, I went out dressed in the daylight for the first time in my local town. No, I didn't pass, I never expected to but at least I could stroll around the shops and check out all the clothes without appearing perverted or sinister.
New Look, Next, Brantano, TK Max, Boots then on to Cardiff prior to our dinner out.
Yes people did look, and several did whisper but most just smiled and went about their own occasions.
I was out with my best friend, another Transvestite girl who goes everywhere with me.

Just after I wrote tonight's episode of Bike, I phoned Gabi, who likes to hear them before I post them and frequently makes useful comments. Tonight, Gabi didn't sound very well, and said she was going to lay on the bed and would phone me back in a few minutes. I waited half and hour and she hadn't called back and when I tried calling her, no answer.

A few weeks ago, as if by premonition, she gave me her next door neighbour's number - I called them and after some confusion over key safe numbers, they managed to gain access to Gabi's house in rural Oxfordshire.

Side Project Based on a Gettysburg Ghost Story

There are several ghost stories surrounding both Gettysburg battlefield and Gettysburg college. Most notably, the girls' sorority house, Stevens Hall, has some bone-chilling stories like The Blue Boy.

The story that grabbed my attention years ago though, and has stuck with me all this time, was about a female ghost that supposedly is completely taken with modern fashion.

My store may be gone

Well, it looks like my store may be sold. The US based chain "Target" has been exploring coming to Canada, and is in the process of buying several stores belonging to our chain, and it looks like ours is one of them. If it happens all the employees will be laid off, and have to either apply with they new company, or at other locations of our current one. I hope I am gone before that happens.

I've almost posted something about my upcoming event twice, only to realize that someone else might feel I was upstaging a post they made that day.

In 62 hours, I will enter courtroom 60 in the county seat, and go before the judge.

I fully expect to walk out with a piece of paper that tells me my legal name is now:
HOLLY H HART,
and go from there to the Department of Motor Vehicles to start the process of getting a driver's license that say the same AND that my gender is F.

mild rant

Well, this is a mild rant. I dont talk much about politics, mostly because this site isnt the place for it, and in any case, no non-canadian would have a clue what I am talking about. But for the last while, the ruling party has been running attack ads on the leader of the main opposition party. Problem with that is, no election has been called, and there may not be one for a year or more. By then, I may throw my tv out the window rather than look at another one of these ads....

The Weight of Words

Some of you have been keeping track on my blog and offering good will wishes for someone that is special to me regarding a diagnosis that was given a few weeks back.

In short: I took her to the ER for severe abdominal pains a few weeks back. An ER doc and a Oncology doc told her she had ovarian cancer and she'd be dead very soon. Nice huh? All of this without a biopsy just a CAT scan. I twigged the next day that it wasn't possible to declare it cancer without that.

OK, so they're more Batman than Superman (i.e. no extraordinary abilities), but according to The Currant Bun, there are at least sixteen patrolling the streets of Britain. And they're probably not TG, but nonetheless may be of interest to fans of the Comics Retcon Universe (and similarly themed stories)...

Well, as most know, I belong to a support site called Daily Strength. One of the groups I belong to on the site deals with sexual assaults, and recently one of the people there asked if I would include some of what happened to me in a collection on the subject. I said yes, and used "The Dead Kid" as a springboard to relate some of my abuse. Well, she got back to me, asking for official permission to include the story in her collection. I just sent it off, and will let you guys know when the book will be out, and where it is available.

An editing business

I have been editing for BC/TS authors for some time now on a pro bono basis. I have been happy to do it and will continue it as a "Thank You" for the stories. Apparently, it has been well received, because I'm getting repeat business.
I would like to transform my skills into a profit making business (NOT AFFECTING THE AUTHORS ON THIS SITE). I knew that my family lived in a nice house that would get us a pretty penny if we ever sold it, but this place put to shame the home I'd known my entire life. I was really intimidated as I stepped out of my car and approached the front door. I really wished I had Mom and Dad, or even Emily or Ethan with me to help keep me from turning and running away.
