Chapter 4 - Lawyers suck… ( at least some do)

A couple days had passed, and I was doing resistance training with Heidi. She placed her feet against mine, as we sat on the floor. She would push with hers, and expected me to push back. Over on the sofa, sat Becca. She had on some jeans with a hole in one knee, and a University of Minnesota hoodie.

“I’m thorry, I don’t underthtand”, I said in regards to the statement she had made.

Sue was dressed in a black crushed velvet pantsuit, that at first glance could be mistaken for a man’s tuxedo. Her broad shoulders and her salt and pepper hair was pulled back in a severe bun on the back of her head only added to the illusion. It would take a trained observer to detect the very feminine voluptuous body concealed behind the manly façade.

“Man, I never realized how expensive it is to live here in Hollywood.” Kelly and Victoria had gone to two properties they were interested in.
The places were nice and had some of what they wanted, but not everything. It didn’t have a pool where they could gather and talk. The garage was too small for Charlie’s truck. Plus, they were asking a lot for it.

“Welcome to my world, Kelly. So, you have a modeling shoot on Thursday?” Victoria looks over towards her friend.

“At least the phone bank went well,” Tiffany said from across the desk. She was trying to cheer me up; in the past that would have been unusual for her but even I could tell that something was different. She was changing, we all were.

“We raised six thousand dollars,” I said, placing the school paper on the desk. “That’s like, what enough to pay rent for a month at Planned Parenthood? Maybe they could buy a box of bandaids. Has Audrey seen this?”

I'd just handed him his large caramel French-roast, and I'd already seen his change go into the tip-jar, so I smiled and said, "Thank you, sir." If he thought I was a girl, it didn't do me any harm. I got that a lot working the counter at SvensKafe, and my co-workers teased me about it.

I'm a human jukebox, I thought. Why don't I stutter when I sing? "Put another nickel in, in the nickelodeon," I sang, finishing up with "Money, money, money," instead of "Music, music, music." When I started a song, I needed to sing it all the way through, apparently, but I could alter it.

When I got up that morning things were different. My room, once decorated in brilliant colors, was now drab and dirty. I kept my room spotless. I smiled; someone was playing a trick on me. I sat up and found I was wearing boys’ flannel pajamas. OK, where’s my nighty? I got up to go take care of business in the bathroom. I pulled down my pajama bottom to find not only that I was wearing boys’ underwear, but as I looked down, I saw clearly that I had a penis!

Just a whole lot more to love...

The beeps of the heart monitor were the only sound I could hear as I lay in my hospital bed.
