I’d given her the key to the chain that connected the two bands but the locks that held them around her thigh were different so she could experiment with the chain for a while. I’d given Jo the option of not wearing them but she gave me a steely look. The change that had come over her since we’d settled here was all to the good. She wasn’t the ‘appendage’ that supported me in my role as CEO. She’d got a new found confidence and determination that pleased me no end.
