Drill Sergeant Winter had a gleam in his eyes as he goes into the barracks and starts banging on the trash can. All the new recruits that had signed up for training had finally arrived late last night. Some of them had only had four hours of sleep. He keeps banging on the trash cans until everyone was awake.

“Alright you maggots, I want you out in formation in five minutes.” Sergeant Winter makes sure everyone is up before he heads outside to wait for them.

Milsy begins her day by trying to find out what the Quadrants think of Captain Merek's request. Senidet has an idea, but designing the system proves difficult. Then, overnight, Tarvan arrives back at the palace and decisions have to be made.

It was a wrench leaving our little home from home. It had been a delight, locals and Brenin staff full of smiles and welcome, the experience made immeasurably better as I watched the strain drop from people’s faces and posture. My left hand has always been a traitor. Way back in elementary school, when the teacher asked the class a question, the traitorous appendage would shoot up into the air waving excitingly. The whole time I was hoping the teacher would not call on me because I had no idea what the correct answer was. Thankfully most of the time she didn’t call on me because of the expression of horror on my face. When she did call on me I’d reply inanely with some wacky answer from out of left field. I remember one incident in first grade that sealed my fate for the rest of my public school life as well as my home life. The biggest problem this time was that I actually knew the answer!

Josh was the second boy Hazel pushed back on. Hazel was six that first time, so was the boy. This time Hazel was thirty eight the boy eighteen. Both boys ended up diapers wondering what the hell happened. You really don't want to push on a witch - Ever!
