The Bedsit

“I have good news”, he said. “There is still no room at my place, but you can at a bedsit just down the hall from us. And better still the rent is minimal.” Harry seemed pleased with himself.

“What’s the catch?” I asked. London was a hard place to find anything, let alone in his location.

Chapter 5
Veronica is training to use magic and learns some very important things about its use and limitations. And she has an appointment to see a doctor as she learns more about living as a teenage girls and bonding with her friends.

Trish waved me over to her and the other girls who were warming up by taking shots. I saw Mary walking in the other direction and talking to my soon to be opponents on the basketball court.

“How are you doing, Riley? Are you ready to play?” Trish wanted to know.

“I am not sure. I will try my best.” I said more to myself. I made sure the sneakers that I received on loan were tied well.

Trish briefly introduced me to the other girls. They all seemed very nice and friendly.

Victor is sad to see his parents getting to go home. Now he has to live in town with his grandmother until he heals enough to go home. How will life for him change as he learns his mother doesn't know the full story of his injuries. Why did his dad lie about him? It wouldn't be so bad if his grandmother wasn't acting so strangely.

Stanley walks around the cargo area of the C-17 they were flying in. Dave and Greg were investigating the IAV Stryker Rebecca sent along. The thing was equipped with an M134 GAU-17 Gatling Gun and plenty of ammo to go along with it. She also sent along with additional ammo for their weapons.

Kat checks her handguns to make sure they were in operational condition. She goes over her full body armor, making sure everything was in working order. Stanley noticed that their full-body armor had been loaded as well. On their shoulders, was their Golden Eagle symbol.

CHAPTER 44
We shared the big bed again, Mam, Dad and me, as I felt I needed the comfort it always brought, and in the morning, after a solid breakfast, I headed off to the beach with my music player, some spare batteries, a carrier bag of cassettes and a book of crosswords. Once in the dunes, I laid out my reed mat amid the marram and pulled off my shift dress.

He saw her the moment that he entered the restaurant. The table for two was not hidden away, but in the middle surrounded by others. He was going to stride over immediately, but he went to the bar and made a show of looking at the menu.

I. Sorry Seems to Be Hardest Word

No one wanted to say that one word.
We said a lot of words to each other.
There was a lot of four letter word conjugation—so much one would assume Samuel Jackson would knock on the door and tell us to calm down.

Two vases were thrown. One hit the wall and the other hit me in face.
The one that struck the wall was made of metal.
The one for my head was ceramic or some form of stone.
