I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
Bailey has lived in the shadow of his popular, cheerleader sister, Jessica, for as long as he could remember. Everyone loves her while he remains remarkably invisible. That changes when he tells his friends he can mimic all of his sister's cheerleading moves and gets forced into a bet he loses. While showing them he can do what he claims, one of his friends films it and puts it on the internet. Now everyone wants to know who the talented "girl" with all the moves is, including his sister and the cheer coach.
Like The Lost Boys, Wendell never grew up. He just stopped growing when he was very young.
As a very small man, his future seemed bleak and sad. Then he met Maggie who saw a
potential in him that no one had ever seen before.
Jessica and Luke are siblings who have experienced a whole world of pain and hurt in their short lives. When it seems that, for once, things are finally beginning to improve, a local drug gang invades their existence, and their world threatens to crumble down around their ears. Read on to see how they and their friends fight back.
Distant birds in Gabriel’s sky hang motionless, and the breeze ruffling through her brother’s soft curls ceases entire. The scene of the mighty slabs guarding the entrance to the Monument below sits frozen, and, unlike before, the page does not turn.
Everything remains still instead, as if suspended by Raphael’s previous words.
Kelly Girl by Wanda Cunningham is the story of a boy who is too pretty for his own good -- he keeps getting mistaken for a girl! Farce, drama, adventure and romance in almost equal portions. Read about his/her adventures in paperback or Kindle edition and help support BC at the same time as all proceeds go to the Hatbox.
Ian and Brice
Chapter 4 (Brice)
Copyright 2021 by Heather Rose Brown
In this chapter, Ian reveals another bit of his past, which starts Brice thinking about her biological parents. Those thoughts lead Brice to asking one of her foster parents a question she'd never had the nerve to ask before.
Despite growing up knowing about the Paranormal and seeing a world that normal people would never see, Seth was as close to a normal human as you could get. Everything would change on the day his father died and his life would never be the same again.
“I kinda like the name Melody, it’s pretty and it suits you.” I blushed brightly as I realized that I had said that aloud.
I know that I don't do really short stories often, but this one wouldn't get out of my head until it was written. Thankfully, that didn't take long. I blame Fiddlerfox for insisting that "Dude" is gender neutral.
At first I thought he was another handsome customer. You know the kind - a cocktail of rugged and kempt in skinny jeans and a loose knit sweater. His eyes twinkled, and he smiled a shy smile. A girl could fall hard if she wasn’t careful.
“Emily, right?”
Realisation landed with a proverbial slap. I knew him. More than that, he was a remnant of a life gone by. Different names, different faces, among other things.
“Drew?”
Of all the coffee shops, on all the west coast, he stepped into mine.

CHAPTER 106
We pulled off the motorway at last, the minibus feeling heavy as I started to handle bends rather than sweeping curves, turning right at a roundabout and then past the airport. There were three more roundabouts, and then a turning into a field by a tiny little river, tents scattered over the grass. I stepped out to stretch my back, Frank’s hands on my shoulders to massage the tension away, and the younger girls went looking for someone to talk to as Alun parked his own car and started dragging out his and Alicia’s kit.
St Francis of Asissies Correctional Academy Part 2
I have proof read this, but there may be some mistakes. Please forgive these.
This story is set in a crime ridden dystopian UK.
Part 2
The boys both woke when they heard the matron enter the room. They stumbled out of bed and saw the matron place a large bag of clothing on the table.
“Right you two, I want you washed and dressed in the next thirty minutes. You have induction this morning”
Almost simultaneously they both grabbed their crouches. They felt restriction and tightness down there.
Shannon O'Reilly was bullied and everything his older sister wasn't. When his sister Sarah gives him a chance to change things through a single wish things don't go as planned.
I Wish: Book 4 Chapter 21
Welcome to the Jungle

Khinara screamed as her mental voice battered my brain. ~I will kill you both for this! You will suffer untold torments until I tire of you! You’ll beg for me to kill you!~
CHAPTER 105
Charlie was almost insufferably smug for ages after her return, but I noticed how much she dialled down the gloating when any of the more vulnerable girls were around. Faye, in particular, was still settling into her new, and hopefully better, life, and seemed overawed at Charlie’s confidence, but it was Tiff who surprised me. Her own mood was simply one of serenity, and when I raised the subject with her in private, I was met by an astonishing level of maturity.
Timothy Mark Ibbotson had a problem. At the tender age of ten he had lost the will to live. There just did not seem to be a point to it anymore and his only concept of a future was making it home every evening after school. It was an effort of will that took him away from home in the mornings and he was getting tired of it all.
“I can feel your hands Mandy!” Richard crowed............
now we continue....
Back at home David and Helen spent a good while as he finally got his emotions under control. Helen was concerned for how this change in David would be perceived and also how others would treat the family. She was a product of her upbringing, the perceptions of those around her had a larger influence on her behaviours than she realised. There was not a lot of experience with trans individuals and the internet to her and her husband was a distraction.

A lifelong crossdressers is offered the chance to move in with a man as a full

She lay on her side, in their queen size bed. She gazed at the clock,
5.30 A.M. She would have 30 minutes to relax before she got up and made
Ron's breakfast.
Mommy was always very protective of me. She would say: “I worry about you being bullied because you are so small. Five foot three and 115 pounds is really a bit small, even for a girl. With your lack of muscle and your delicate, even feminine appearance you are a target for mean boys.”
Julia’s alarm clock starts buzzing. She reaches over and smacks it. She gets up and starts getting dressed. Halfway getting dressed, she remembers she was suspended for three days. She stops putting her uniform on and takes it off.
“Why are you getting undress, sweetie?” Christmas had woken up and noticed Julia taken her uniform off.
“I just remembered I’m on a three-day suspension.” Julia puts on the Native American-made shirt Chayton’s grandfather gave her.
A few days before I was scheduled to play Dotty, my mother had decided to spring a surprise trip to Jackson on me. It seemed daddy had been given an unexpected bonus for the company he works for, Yazoo Chemical Corporation. And since it had been a few years since we've had a proper family vacation daddy had decided to rent a condominium down on the Alabama gulf coast for a whopping ten days. With that in mind, mommy had decided that my wardrobe needed an upgrade. Since it was clear I was not going back. To be a boy.
CHAPTER 104
I spent the next few days in a mess of indecision. I was going to be married, it seemed, and I had no real idea of how that had happened beyond finding myself caught up in the news from England, about Diane’s friend and her own wedding.
Was it the right thing to do? Did I really want it for myself, or was I ticking boxes for Frank’s sake? What about the House, and the girls? I ended up doing what I normally did, and ran the whole thing past Rosie while sitting in that welcoming pub near Cowbridge.

My sister's all-girl J-POP band (in Texas?) needs a bass player. No problem, I play bass, but if I take the gig, it won't be an all-girl band.... So, obvious solution and I do look cute, unfortunately....
What do you mean, we're a hit? And we've got a contract!? And we're going to JAPAN?!?!
I can't be most popular girl in the band! My name is Sam...
