I called Stella and asked her to bring some jewellery with her for me to look at. While Simon was still in the shower, I dressed and rushed down to the cleaners with my suit, the blouse I could press myself.

I don't know how those little stories strike you, but... as I listened... at first I felt like a fish out of water. My first impulse was to laugh or to mock, but I was the only one. Everyone else in the room took each story as it was: a candid offering. I'm not saying they were all good; they weren't. But they were all sincere, without guile.

No more spoiler warnings, folks. If you've come this far, you already know what I've been trying to hide about the Firefly/Serenity universe, created by Joss Whedon. You know our intrepid heroes are in a bad way, but it's always darkest before the dawn. Unfortunately, the crew is on a space station, so who knows how that old adage works out?

I apologize that this isn't the full part 5 as I would like it to be. It has been more than a month since I posted part 4 and work has been causing me massive losses of writing time as well as my broken arm causing me problems. I had to have surgery last week in order to repair the massive break in my wrist.

I was glad for Simon's help in getting my purchases to and from the station. I hadn't realised how much I'd bought until I had to pick them all up again from Waterstone's cafeteria.

We grabbed a takeaway on the way home, Simon fancied a pizza. I don't really like them, but it made for an easy dinner.

"What have you got to be sorry about? You got what you wanted!" Anger appeared in his tone of voice.

"I never meant for anything like what happened tonight to happen. You’ve got believe me!"

"Well it did didn’t it?" He picked up the whisky glass and hurled it across the room. It smashed into varying sized pieces onto the floor against the wall opposite me.

"George…" I nervously tried to say something. Fear was gripping me as I realized he might turn his violence onto me.
