I'm going to use this as a place to discuss search, how to use it and what people want to use it for.
A few things:
When you use multiple words in a search, the default is to perform an OR search. Searching for curly perm will turn up both curly and perm and will list first results that have both terms.
Searches are case insensitive. Perm, perm and PERM are all the same.
Searches are made for roots, so perm, perms, permed and perming are all the same. But permanent is a different word.
A plus symbol in front of a word in a search means that word is required so curly +perm will return only results that have some form of perm in them and will prefer ones that have curly, also. +curly +perm results must have both words though not necessarily next to each other.
A minus sign means do not include the following word in results so perm -curly would return results that matched perm but would not include ones that also had curly.
Quotes around a phrase will search for an exact match, but will still ignore case. "curly perm" will match Curly perm and lots of variations but both words in that order must be present.
Comments are regarded by search as part of the post.
The sidebars allow you to restrict searches to posts that match various criteria, like type of post, audience rating or authorship. At the top right is a sidebar that allows you to control how the search indexer orders results.
When we upgrade to Drupal 7, this will all change a bit but not drastically.
You can use this thread to ask questions and make comments about search.
Bailey has lived in the shadow of his popular, cheerleader sister, Jessica, for as long as he could remember. Everyone loves her while he remains remarkably invisible. That changes when he tells his friends he can mimic all of his sister's cheerleading moves and gets forced into a bet he loses. While showing them he can do what he claims, one of his friends films it and puts it on the internet. Now everyone wants to know who the talented "girl" with all the moves is, including his sister and the cheer coach.
Like The Lost Boys, Wendell never grew up. He just stopped growing when he was very young.
As a very small man, his future seemed bleak and sad. Then he met Maggie who saw a
potential in him that no one had ever seen before.
Jessica and Luke are siblings who have experienced a whole world of pain and hurt in their short lives. When it seems that, for once, things are finally beginning to improve, a local drug gang invades their existence, and their world threatens to crumble down around their ears. Read on to see how they and their friends fight back.
Distant birds in Gabriel’s sky hang motionless, and the breeze ruffling through her brother’s soft curls ceases entire. The scene of the mighty slabs guarding the entrance to the Monument below sits frozen, and, unlike before, the page does not turn.
Everything remains still instead, as if suspended by Raphael’s previous words.
When Tony's attempt to follow in his father's footsteps on the football field comes to nothing he gives his undivided attention to a different sport - gymnastics.
His unorthodox training leaves judges bemused but coaches impressed enough to give him an opportunity. With the Olympics in his sights a twist of fate has him seeing things from a whole new perspective, one that will affect the rest of his life.
Stephanie survived her first week at school, but only just. She was definitely falling apart towards the end, and probably would have if it hadn't been for Portia. Still it'll probably be easier to put him/her back together the way he/she was meant to be now.
There are still quite a few loose ends left to tie up, not least amongst them being what will happen when the new Stevie turns up at School on Monday morning.
Sean visits his cousin Kelly at St. Bonaventure’s Hospital. While he’s there, he meets a few of her very Irish girlfriends. But would Kelly approve of what they propose?
CHAPTER 20
I should have seen that one coming, I really should. I knew, after all, what Sal specialised in, and with hindsight Steph had been just a little too straight, a little too hard edged. She covered it up well, and everything about her shouted ‘woman’.

Chapter 9 A Strange Sunday
Coming through the door was James girlfriend. I felt a cold chill down my spine and my stomach was churning. She was with two friends and they looked a little drunk even though it was still fairly early in the day. I couldn’t believe that he would like this person. I knew it was her as soon as Sallys face. She looked at me and her eyes were wide open.
The next couple of days go well. We’ve been pretty busy once again and I’ve had several photo sessions of my own as well as more language lessons. I’ve made arrangements with Tanner to invest nearly half of what I earn after taxes to begin to save toward my operations. For some reason, the idea of becoming fully myself... I mean, fully female is really beginning to take hold. Isn’t that funny? I’ve spent years trying to be male and now in just a couple of months I’ve embraced being a female and can’t wait to be more complete. Maybe Dad was right and there is something wrong with me... I mean other than being a woman who has been trying to be a boy.
'Tis the last rose of summer left blooming alone
All her lovely companions are faded and gone
No flower of her kindred, no rosebud is nigh
To reflect back her blushes and give sigh for sigh
Bailey enjoys one final night of fun with the girls before school starts.
Before he can cut loose, however, he comes face to face with a very real truth about himself.
Bailey struggles to maintain his sanity, as he is faced with a decision that may change his life forever...
I was exhausted after three hours with Sensei Ozawa. I spent more time on my back than I had in 5 years of training. I was thrown every which way that a person could be thrown. I even played the “I’m just a girl” card, with no luck whatsoever.
As I rubbed by backside from the thirtieth throw, sensei told me, in his intimidating Japanese accent. “Center of gravity off! Energy is not flowing. Feel energy flowing through you, not around!” He growled in frustration. “YOU should be defeating ME, girl! Again!”
“We are waiting, princess,” Tad shouted from a table in the center of the deserted nightclub.
A very un-lady like retort came to mind; Amber bit her lip. She simply tugged at her mini skirt’s hem once more then she jogged from the dressing room out to center stage. Her crimson crop top with white piping proudly displayed the team name Cavaliers in bold white script across her chest while the low-rise matching skirt barely covered her red spandex undies. Red laces tied her white tennis shoes and a blonde wig fell in waves similar to Carrie Underwood.
“That bad ehh,…Will the ship survive and carry us though? Should I be battening the hatches or something? ” I looked at her and we giggled together. The first laugh we had had since that terrible morning trauma.
Some Kind of Wonderful- Part Twenty

Enemyoffun
Charlie Sandsmark and his mother, Helena, travel around the world from one archaeological dig to another, looking for evidence of the ancient Amazonian culture. So far they have found nothing, until Charlie discovers something wonderful about himself on a small island in the Aegean Sea.
She looked at me with such a sinister look that would make any man wet his pants. Then she grabbed my neck and pulled me up, suspending me half a foot above the floor by my neck. In reflex, my hands flew up to pull at the fingers while my legs kept kicking hers.
As my vision started to blur and I started to lose consciousness, I called up the deathscythe in desperation.
Immediately, I felt her grip weaken, and my visions returned. When my vision cleared, I realized that I had inadvertently drawn the blade of the scythe mere inches from her neck.
"One of death, I see. You've come a long way from that love-sick boy in elementary school. Now what are you going to do with this, sister?" she mocked.
The Half Lilin: By The Light Of The Moon (Chapter 10)
Steven has discovered that it takes more than putting on a skirt to become a girl, and more than becoming a girl to become accepted. He thought he'd found a way to make his life better but it just got a lot worse. The question is does he have any friends left

Chapter 8 So much attention.
Sally jumped out of bed and ran to the door to ensure that it was dead locked properly. Then she looked through the spy-hole to find out who it was. At first she said nobody was there but then another knock. ‘It’s Jessica outside’ she said and opened the door to let her in.
CHAPTER 19
Once refuelled, we set off for the lumpier part of the ride, and it was the drag by Turner’s Hill that stretched the group out. We gathered once more at the crossroads before some rolling stuff took us to a little cluster of greenhouses.
Tanner and I are up early. The cryptic message from his sister telling us to appear at her working office today about a quarter hour before our scheduled 8:00 meeting, has caused us each some trepidation as we both wonder what she has on her mind. She apparently didn’t enlighten Tanner either. I’m essentially emancipated since dear old Dad signed the papers allowing me to find my own way in life. I think he was hoping I would starve to death. Probably the last thing he expected was that I would need him to sign some more papers.
Steven’s parents have agreed to him trialling living full time as a girl. Knowing the response he’s had from the other lads at school to him just being a weedy guy, this could prove to be a tough decision, unless his new friends can come through for him.
Almost Halloween, on a rainy day near Buttonwillow she stole a ride...
