a D & D poem

A D & D poem:

with apologies to Larry Niven and Steven Barnes

Oh, I once had a sword, or a sword had me,

turned my cowardliness into bravery

We had many battles, the sword in the lead

I always hated it, I dont like to bleed

one day I got lucky, could leave the sword behind

deep in a dungeon for some sucker to find

Dont worry now, I still do some good.

I carry a club. No-ego wood!

Never played Dungeons and Dragons

Nor have I seen it played or know anything beyond it's name. But I still enjoyed your short poem, although I might have been picturing world of Warcraft at the time (which doesn't really work). And of course the Queen of Commenting deserves a few comments on her own work from us mere mortal commenters. Good poem!

P.S. or you just read and add comments on nearly everything I read. Not entirely sure which it is a massive number of comments or you read everything I read.

Not JUST a d&d poem ...

But a sly parody of a Beatles classic! As a long time Fab Four fan, I recognized the tune quickly! I wonder who else did? I wonder if a Norwegian would? ;)
Ms. DiMaggio, please weigh in here; you love a good song parody as much as anyone I know!

what I thought when I read this today....
So I looked around and mused... oh what the hey?

Yes I could even hear Mrs. Harrison's boy playing the sitar

So "Isn't it good?" is an understatement! Nice one, Dorothy!
