WINTER BLUES

The sky is ash
The trees are bare
The silence stark
No life anywhere

The wind is cold
My heart breaks
When darkness comes
More than I can take

Winter is long
Spring far away
And my depression
Seems here to stay

But spring will come
Of that I’m sure
My heart will heal
In sunlight pure

Winter’s blues
Will melt with the snow
When spring’s new life
Begins to show

I can’t wait
The journey long
But my faith
Remains strong

So I rest
In the promise made
And continue
His word obey

Though the wait is long
And peace far away
I will give thanks
And praise and pray
