Lahaina

Blog About:

Author:

I have spent five holidays in Hawaii and every time I have spent most of the time on Maui, and each time I have been in close proximity to Lahaina. I never stayed in the town itself but always in Ka'anapali, a couple of miles north and Lahaina was where we would go to dine and just walk around for enjoyment. The banyan tree was a favourite sitting spot and Front Street was where all the good cafes and restaurants were located, so it is with a heavy heart that I see the devastation which has befallen the town.

Fa'afafine

Blog About:

Author:

For those who are unfamiliar Fa'afafine is the Samoan 3rd gender.
When I first read about fa'afafine, The article said families that had all boys would choose one to raise as a girl to help in the home and look after the parents in old age.

I wrote a story called The Fa'afafine Bill set on an alternative earth. One comment said that it was stupid premiss as men could do the same jobs as women without being women.

Tragedy in Cycling

Caution:

Blog About:

Author:

I am a very amateur cyclist. But I have some friends who are serious cyclists. And many of us on this blog have perhaps become fans or at least gained a deeper understanding of the sport from reading the many Gaby novels.

So I think perhaps we can all mourn the death on Saturday of 17 year old U.S. cyclist Magnus White. He was hit by a vehicle and killed while training for the upcoming world championships in Scotland.

Russia a hostile place for trans people

Blog About:

While the Labour party in Britain struggles with the gap between trans rights and feminist worries Russia has no such worries, Putin has banned all treatment for transgender folk making it illegal. And I thought we had problems in the west.

Midweek from GOC

Blog About:

Author:

for the last time! Well for now, i shall be back.

Its been quite an eventful month, one that i'd rather not repeat although there have been some good days, but on Friday i will be back on a bus to Brizzle. Things with father have settled down, his time in the convalescent home will depend on the physio so there is no necessity for me to stay longer, my brother should be about for visiting purposes from Friday. The other thing delaying my return south has been my back, its not right yet but i should manage the journey without too much discomfort by travel time.

Well this is a new one, to me anyway

Blog About:

This is probably nonsense, but it is a theory I had not heard about trans folk. This is about the effect of pollution on gender.

Recent evidence indicates that phthalates from plastic and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) are one of many factors predicting gender dysphoria, particularly in the case of male-to-female transgenders.

Polluted groundwater yields ambiguous genitalia for vulnerable species. The modern human environment is replete with substances that mimic sex hormones. Could these chemicals play a role in contemporary gender fluidity?

Very balanced article in Observer/Guardian

Blog About:

Author:

There is at least one balanced view on the recent hysteria of transwomen invading women-only spaces, this is well written article quoting evidence to support her view that trans women are likely to be more vulnerable and to have received more abuse than cis gendered women and that instead of being exclusive we should all be supporting each other to protect ourselves from predatory men, which isn't a diatribe against men, just those who abuse and murder all types of women and vulnerable groups.

Do read it, it's really good stuff.

A Preview of Things to Come

Heya folks!

I've been trying to help out with some formatting and the like for DopplerPress books, and I just wanted to share some of my excitement for what we've got in the pipeline with everyone. However, rather than just TELLING you what's coming down the way, I thought it would be more fun to make you guess!

So, here's the deal:

Ladies Get toGether this Sunday

Blog About:

Author:

I’m inviting you to my weekly Sunday Zoom meeting. Only trans women are invited. If you have an invite feel free to invite others I include a link to my local time standard so that you might match it up to yours, Some of the ladies in the past are from Great Britain and Germany. Most of them are writers who post stories on a Big Closet Top Shelf though that this is no way a requirement.

Sunshine - with a catch

Yep, the ten day forecast suggests we are keeping the bright weather for a bit, we might even reach 25c! The downside is an almost constant stiff breeze, not exactly a Mistral but annoying nevertheless.

British Cycling to ban transgender women from competing in female category

Blog About:

Author:

I think we all saw this coming.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cycling/65718748

Under a new participation policy that the governing body said was "predicated on fairness", such athletes will compete in an 'open category' with men.

Female races will be "for those whose sex was assigned female at birth".

The changes will prevent riders such as Emily Bridges potentially being part of the British women's team.

BCTS Data Breach ???

Caution:

Blog About:

Author:

So, I was just cruising the web this afternoon when suddenly I was at a site that I did not recognize that had about 25 or more photos. One caption said that it was the server room on the east coast and another caption said BCTS. I don't know what was going on and it seems to have cleared now. I had previously visited a site called "Chat GPT" that did not interest me, so I left. I don't know if this caused BCTS any grief and if it did, I am sorry.

it didn't take Bud Light long to back down

Blog About:

Author:

Well, it didn't take Bud Light long to back down from its support of a trans influencer.

"Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch attempted to assure investors that everything is fine — even though everything most certainly isn’t — and it would get back on track.

Anheuser-Busch CEO Michel Doukeris distanced the company from transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney as sales of the beer continue to plummet.

'We need to clarify the facts that this was one can, one influencer, one post and not a campaign,' Doukeris said during an earnings call."

Coronation

Blog About:

I'm not trying to create controversy or seem snarky in my first ever blog. As an American, I don't understand why my English sisters and brothers still have this tradition. Without putting down us 'across the pond' sisters, do most English still want to hold on to the Monarchy? I don't believe anyone still thinks it is ordained of God, or that all the Kings, Queens, Knights, Prince, Princesses, Dukes, Duchesses, etc. are anything special. I will own up to watching live in awe at the wedding of Charles and Diana back in 1981.

Hate in Texas

Spent a long and interesting day at the Texas legislature. Bigots in the Leg have piled on to the Red State Hate Wagon and are preparing to pass a law to prohibit treating trans kids and making any doctor who did a felon. My wife and I simply had to be there to protest.

Zooey Zephyr

All I can say is that I am in awe of her. Montana is a very hostile state to trans and for her get elected in the first place is already a huge accomplishment but I am sure she knew going in this is going to create tsunami level waves.

The fact that she has been 'cancel cultured' and her rights as well as the constituents she is representing are being taken away just shows what the opposition is made of.
