best laid plans and all that.

So i had everything planned, the writing, the trip up to Yorkshire - indeed i was ahead of the game. However on Friday things were turned upside down, could i go to Sheffield as soon as, my father having broken an arm (right humerus in 5 places!). My father is fast approaching 93yo and hasn't been very steady on his feet for several years, he relies on a stick or walking frame to get about, a broken arm hinders this somewhat and as for dressing etc. So i changed my ticket for Monday and i've then been reorganising the stuff i was planning on doing over the next 10 days.

Its not onerous stuff, laundry, shopping, cooking, there just isn't anyone else to do it. I'll be in GOC for at least three weeks but the return is as yet open ended, it will depend very much on how quickly he heals and is able to at least dress himself.

On the plus side i should be able to push on with some writing once i get up there, i really don't want the flow to stop, i did get a chapter finished on Friday so that's on Patreon now. It also gives me a chance to do some riding in the Pennines, something i sorely miss, the bike was travelling anyway as the original trip was centred around a camping weekend - i spent this morning dehydrating the bike and camping gear so that it all fits into a suitcase! There are a few more bits to pack and i'll be ready for the five hours sat on a coach.

I'll try to maintain posting here although clearly the camping weekend will put a hole in things but thats in a fortnight, you can read Kabin Konzert now which is part 32 of Only Five Minutes.

In other news, I have done a couple of rides, on Thursday it was best part of 140km in a loop to Royal Wootton Bassett followed by a return via the headwaters of the Thames bear Cirencester. Then yesterday it was 111km in South Glos., both days temperatures were into the mid twenties with a stiff north easterly spicing things up somewhat. Today its still warm but we've been having our first proper rain in a month, its a bit humid atm but i'll manage a walk around the block before i cook tea.

So there we have it, you know about as much as i do in regard to what i'll be up to for the next few weeks now.
