or not, we've been experiencing some, er, weather!
Which is why i'm writing this now, nearly eight of the pm.
Monday was quite mild and most of the day, dry so i set off to scrump some fruit. Well i stopped off at the Swedish shop for an early lunch and a quick neb first, then headed to the blackberry field about ten minutes or so walk away. I was well prepared, the blackberries available in huge volume, big and juicy, it didn't take long to collect @ 4kg! At which point i became aware of the fruit trees, apple of course but there were plums too so i gathered a nice little crop of those too. I thought i'd look to see what else was lurking and found several Quince trees and a fig tree although the fruit was shy of ripe - hopefully i can claim some when they do ripen.
Tuesday was forecast for a damp start but drying mid morning so i got ready to go out and waited, and waited, the rain continued and i gave up around lunchtime. It was well into the afternoon before it was dry enough to go out so i just went to get some supplies then made a blackberry and apple crumble! Only 3 more kilos to go lol.
And so to today, Wednesday. The weather was supposed to be more benign and so it has turned out. I've had a bit of a loop down onto the Mendip, stopping for egg on toast as i descended to the Yeo levels. Then it was back the flat way, out towards the coast then back up to Brizzle via Nailsea, 105km with a bit over 800m of up, temperatures latterly reaching the mid twenties.
So my whole schedule has been punted back a day which might be as well, tomorrow could be knocking on 30c, with the humidity it starts getting a bit uncomfortable for riding, Friday and across the weekend should be closer to today, much nicer for riding.
I'll be back at the weekend with the first chapter of Gaby book 26, but for now,
Tschussie,
