Throne of Glass - Debut Novel

A relative of mine, Sarah J Maas, is a young author (mid-twenties) writing Young Adult Fantasy fiction.

Her first novel Throne of Glass, will be published on August 7th by Bloomsbury Children’s. She has three novellas currently available on Kindle at $.99 and a fourth to come that introduce her main character.

Her main character is a young female assassin. As far as I know there are no TG elements to the story.

Her Amazon page is:

Her "offical" web site is: http://sarahjmaas.com/

it's that time again

Just a short comment to let you know that page 3 is now up, we have one more page in the buffer and then we shall need to do more, which I shall be working on over the next week or two, I am encouraged by some of the site stats, we are gaining fans and getting reasonable hits but I am curious as to why no one ever says anything - maybe they are waiting for the good stuff to happen - you know, the actual Transformation :).

Has anyone else had an luck trying to get to story site? None of the bookmarks I had, and used to check it twice daily, are working since early yesterday. I don't know if the two different servers she was using are both out, or if she didn't pay the bill, or if she decided to just pull it since there was no evidence of activity in 3 years. She said she was working on it, but......

Where Angels fear to tread or my life is a Monty Python skit.

Flying in the face of my fears ,of making a complete and total fool of my self in print, I will attempt to share a bit of what I find funny in my life. There for I am going to attempt to start a blog so I may share my odd outlook on life. Or let us get down on our knees and look at things from my point of view. What did you expect I am a wolf we get around on all four's.

There are a few things you need to know about me before we start this.

Four Years Later

Hi Everybody.

I posted a comment under the above heading a few days ago on a story loaded (or reloaded) in November 2008. I want to either edit that comment (or load another) but now I can't find the story. Naturally I have forgotten the title!

I feel so stupid!

Has anyone any ideas on how I can trace the story? All help gratefully received.

Kind regards to all at BCTS.

Alternating Gender Incongruity (AGI)

Here's a new syndrome that some might find interesting.

Althernating Gender Incongruity (AGI)
Some people appear to switch gender identities spontaneously. Although I know nobody who has this condition, it is something of which we should all be aware.

Good news out of Canada.

There seems to be a lot of "negative" news stories coming out of my country lately. The transgender beauty contestant or the gender not matching appearance on a passport as prominent examples...

Well, here's something that provides a little hope. Ontario looks like it's poised to take a step forward in transgender rights: changing gender without SRS.

Although I'm sure the comments will be a mixed...

Kindle Books by BC Authors

Hey Gang,

Just wanted to remind you or inform you that you can leave reviews on Amazon even if you didn't buy an item from them. We have several authors now who have put their wares up on Amazon and need reviews and stars to help others know how good they are. I've left a couple so far for stories I read, one on here and one on Kindle. As I catch up with my reading I plan on adding more reviews.

Unless anonymity is an issue, lets all leave reviews for books/stories we've read that are on Amazon for sale. Spread the word with good reviews and 5 stars!!

Dick Clark Gone

ABC News

By JULIA KATHAN and SHEILA MARIKAR (@SheilaYM)
April 18, 2012

Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with "American Bandstand," and whose trademark "Rockin' Eve" became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82.

Clark's agent Paul Shefrin said in statement that the veteran host died this morning following a "massive heart attack."

Taking a break, sort of...

New video games, so the more writing intensive stories like The Season of Change and Blood, Dust, and Silver are being put on the back burner for a while.

I'll still be working on them, but probably not going to get much done. Might get a new BD&S by friday, as I'm already halfway done with the new chapter.

Luckilly I've had the Minion Eighteen story brewing for a while, so I can probably knock those out pretty quickly.

Another brain fade...lost again

I have done it again, and humbly seek your aid. I have a story saved off, entitled Beyond The Sky, I have parts 1-3. According to word, I assembled it into a word doc on 3-28-12, but it will be a bit older than that. I finally read it last night and went looking to see if any more had been posted. I can't find it anywhere. It is by D A Trask. I have searched BCTS, FM, Stardust, TGFiction.Net, Whateley, in case I forgot to label it thusly, Sapphire's, Crystals, TG Storytime, Morfs, Literotica, Nifty, personal blogs I look at, several personal story sites, even so far as The Overflowing Bra.

Need to Vent

Hello, it's a beautiful day. I just finish my income taxes and both of "my" prime minister want MORE of my money. No I didn't vote for theme, not that the options are any better.
The car in the shop for several small things.
The washer is starting to act up, so probably more money that way (or is it way MORE MONEY).
Brother dearest is still not paying any thing.
And the pay check is not getting bigger to compensate.

So not good for any clothing, therapy, i don't even thing about meds.
Still in the closet for most part.

Health is not bad, my cat is lovely and i envy her.

A glimpse into my life ...

In the past 5 months I have realized I am as a flower ... like a seed planted in the ground I only existed, struggled with my life and hid from myself. Potential was there, waiting for me to realize living was not a punishment, but a gift from god. When my spirit was woken the seed cracked and I became aware of myself and a little of my surrounding. As time progressed the sprout broke through the ground and I was no longer hiding from myself and my surroundings. However, it was not until I formed my bud that I realized the true potential I had in my life.

i am still working on Through the years

But I've been a bit busy. Between subbing as a babysitter (was told the other day when Tanya got back the last three times I've changed the kids diaper I've put it on backwards) to helping people move (arms and back still sore and that was last weekend) to helping people shop and plan birthday surprises, I've not had the want to type when I get home.

I know on the 11th I'll be babysitting again. But hopefully I'll have something finished by then.

Opposite Day? Well, a different interpretation...

http://now.msn.com/now/0404-cops-newborn-purse.aspx?gt150501

Ya' gotta admit, this kid's interpretation of Opposite Day is a literal interpretation. Even the cop thought so. Probably wouldn't be all that popular Opposite Day on this story site though.....;-)

Hidden Tags - an idea

Hi, there was a blogpost from Erin somewhere about user tags. I agreed that that wouldn't be a good idea, but I got a similar one. I used the category browser and realized I can't find stories that the author didn't gave the right tags because s/he feared plotspoilers.
Is it possible to add hidden tags for the author? I mean tags that can be used by the category browser search, but that are not displayed on the front of the story.
That would enable someone to search for the story who is interested in the particular elements, while preventing spoilers for everyone else.

Jen Xing's journey and triumph

http://rockcenter.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/04/03/10999602-ch...

A story on this amazing person will be on The Rock Center at 10 (East) 9 (central). It should be about 15 minutes long. In a country like China who still value boys over girls, her father's attitude is perceptive and loving. Even the Chinese government values her, and so does her husband who happens to be German.

Cool!!!!

Anybody heard from Lauran Travis?

Anybody heard from Lauran Travis? She hasn't posted in several years and I haven't heard from her in at least that long. Then all of a sudden I started getting what appears to be the typical spam message from her addressed to me. So I was wondering if anybody had kept in touch with her and had a reasonably current email addy.
