Chapter 11

We get into Sable’s jeep and we head to my house and we’re careful not to wake everyone up while I quickly get changed and grab my board and take my meds. I smile at her having set the table and have put out the cereal boxes and everything to make toast and stuff as well as a bowl of fruit salad that she has in a Tupperware dish saying eat me and another with scrambled eggs saying cook me. She even loaded the coffee perk and it starts gurgling away as we leave.

That’ll get Dad up at least. He always says that fresh coffee and frying bacon are the best alarm clock smells.

Chapter 26

I take a deep breath and push Raven forward towards the van and she moves on her own after about twelve steps or so. I watch her do that tranced out walk around it with her fingers almost touching and I’ve never seen her eyes that wide with awe before.

Y’know it’s that kind of look that someone gets when someone gives you something that you could have only dreamt of having but it’s so out there you never really think about it.

Like getting custom work done for your bands travel van.

I’m in a very good mood as I attend the rest of my classes and I’m a bit glowing with all the flattering looks and the compliments that I’m getting. I actually had to reintroduce myself to two people.

It was seriously fun actually.

Jem-20

Chapter 20

I get up early despite it being a late night because my brain just won’t turn off. I actually feel sore and achy but it doesn’t matter because at the same time I really feel good. It’s so one of those my heart is feeling better than my body and carrying me above and beyond.

I slip out of bed and pad through the house making the morning coffee and doing up a batch of French toast with the homemade bread. That done along with some bacon in the oven to warm I get the camera phone and make my way upstairs recording myself for our sites.

“Hey it’s Jem, it’s about six twenty in the morning and I’ve just got to show you something amazingly cool about one of the band. Her name’s Roxy and she’s our drummer and I’ll show you all why.”

Chapter 10

Sable’s in the window and she’s looking down at me hand over her mouth and she’s all smiley and teary and I can’t help but to feel so right about myself. I never knew that a girl can look at you and it changes everything.

Right now my genetic gender doesn’t even register.

She’s there a few minutes before she runs from the window and outside. She’s got a long pink striped baseball jersey nightshirt on.

One minute she’s there and the next minute she’s in my arms and she’s kissing me and I’m kissing her but she jumped in my arms and I’m still holding her off the ground and then instead of setting her down I sweep her up and carry her back inside because it’s cold out here.

I can believe that way that Summer just sang that and took the bow and the praise along with that little fucking speech she just gave everyone. I look at Raven and she’s just sort of staring at the stage like she’s in shock. I grab Brooklyn’s arm before she takes off at the stage after Summer... and Roxy is looking at me all teary eyes but hurt and freaked with this what do we do look.

Okay despite how bouncy I was I’m really scared and nervous as we get to the YWCA. There’s the fact My CP makes me stick out and there’s this fear of being found out. Aunt Holly gets out with a bag and I get out with her and we head inside and sign in and head to the changing rooms and…I see this guy?..girl..in the ladies locker room.

He looks at me and he’s Hindu? Hindi? And I can’t help but sneak a few peeks until he looks away shyly and sort of hides behind the locker doors.

“Aunt Holly? Uhm is he like me?”

I can’t help but to stare at Raven. Then the way she said what she just said and the way the she’s looking at me sinks in and makes me blush. I…did I over do this? Am I making this to much for her? Am I going to hurt her?

She goes over to me and she smiles this smile that and forgive me for being lez-offensive wakes my lower self some despite the confinement and makes me get this very naughty bad Jason image in my head.

Chapter 5

I woke up in the morning and it was a good morning for me. My soreness was just sort of general stuff the usual stuff and I’m not sure if it was having someone to hold me all night. And the smell. It’s that smell women only have, that maybe I’ll have one day when the boy hormones are getting out of me and the hormones I need are making me right.

I feel really good inside where it counts despite the stuff that’s my usual. I wake and she’s not far behind me and I get an in bed hug and squeeze. The first in god, really I don’t know how long. “Morning?” she says.

He smiles back at me and says quietly. “You’re here? I know I said we should keep things with us being away from each other but I missed you kiddo.”

“Me too, I was getting worried about you.”

“Angel, I’m a grown man I can take care of myself.”

I look at him smile but raise my eyebrow. He stares then shakes his head. “God you look like your mother when you do that.”

“I do?”

“Yes, you do.”

I think I’m in shock or whatever the hell that you’d describe it. I sort of passed out after I had this huge screaming match and fight out in the driveway with and I just lost my control and said things that I shouldn’t have said to him, admitted to him and gave him lots of information to do me some real damage.

Which I think that I partly knew and that pushed me over the edge into nervous fucking breakdown land. It got too much and things got…

Did ADAM…actually carry up the stairs and pass me to Alex?

Chapter 8

I let out a sigh as I watched Raven pull away and I head inside. I take a few deep breaths just trying to get a grip on the day. Weird but it’s something I do. I get another cup of coffee and a notepad and I walk around the house looking at everything that needs doing or I know that I can fix. There’s a small fenced in backyard that hasn’t likely seen work since before Raven moved in and there’s a shed/small garage at the end of the driveway.

It’s just getting onto the start of evening and I’m looking down at Alex and he’s standing in front of the limo and the sun’s behind it and him and he’s dressed like that and the wind is blowing his dark hair to one side.

I know I’m just playing the part of a girl, well trying to be a girl now but the way that my heart does this huge heavy thud in my chest at the sight of him it's all girl.

I wake up slowly and there’s this scent just floating around me and it’s one of the best scents in the world. Girl… that smell with just hints lingering of her soap and shampoo still clinging to her just winds itself a twirls in my brain and comforts me right down deep inside.
