Chapter 14

My powered leap takes my up into the air and clearing nearly the fully city block. I’m starting to like the feeling too. It’s got almost this reverse bungee jump kind of thrill to it.

But that’s not the big deal right now. The big deal id the Silver Cross Bank and the cops hiding behind their cars as these three guys in exo-frames are loading ATM whole onto the back of a truck while this suit of power armor is providing cover fire.

I loved to visit my cousin because, well, she was a girl. And I was more at home with my cousin, Penny, than my guy friends back then in the mid-fifties. You might of thought that she was my best friend at the time.

I awoke to find Tinker leaning over me.

“Tinker, I see you found me.”

“Found you? Who are you?”

My muse had to work very hard to finish this tale. While it is based on a true story, I was told many years ago I had to take some liberties with the ending. The ending is true to form, but not as true to fact. For those who commented and wanted to see the story continued, I hope you can see the real character of Roxy under the writing. The ending is rather sad so take the **tissue alert** to heart.

Tinker immediately left the room. I turned to Bell.

Karen and I went back to my apartment to get our things. I looked over at her and she had that smirk I hated.

“Gina darling, why don’t you give those ignorant marshals a thrill and wear that pink sundress and white sandals?”

Standing before me were two aliens. They were about 3 feet tall and had a slight greenish tinge to their skin. They were humanoid and both looked female. To top it off, they had beautiful translucent wings. The word that came to my mind was ‘faeries’.

When I arrived at the moon base, I went directly to Coop’s office. He was alone and looked concerned.

“What’s up, Coop?”

“I just had an interesting conversation with the council. They told me you are now in charge. I’m fine with that. My problem is that they seem to think that we have a military.”
