Hope's Light (Chapter 1 of 35)

by Erisian

Book 6

If you have yet to read the saga - the tale starts here:

Into The Light

Hope you enjoy!

Part One

Prologue - Bargain

“Are you certain this is the right path?”

Two figures crept down a narrow underground passageway, shoes slipping across shallow puddles lining the curved concrete floor. Their coats, one jet black and the other a lighter brown, flickered in the weak light offered only by a white crystal held forward by the taller and much darker-skinned man.

“They didn’t provide a map, Callas. I told you the same instructions they told me, and your memory is as perfect as mine. If you think we’ve misapplied the sequence, you should’ve spoken up.”

“Hmm.”

Synopsis:

Pigs fly, hell freezes over ... and Darrin and Endora discover common ground in a two-bit strip club in Bayonne, New Jersey.

Bewitched: A Meeting of the Minds at the Pussywillow Lounge
by Randalynn

Shirley some mistake?

These days, Halloween has been taken over by the horror industry but when I was young you went out ‘guising’ which meant being in disguise. One year I was a footballer in my favourite team’s strip. Another year, I was a Mexican wearing a poncho my mum had picked up on holiday with a sombrero and a fake moustache made from some soot from the chimney.

Twins, part 15

“I- I’m sorry, what?” Luke asked incredulously as Paul muttered a barely audible ‘Jesus Fucking Christ’ under his breath.

“I said that I don’t want to be a woman any more,” the distraught youngster replied. “I don’t want to be a woman, and I don’t want to be called ‘Lucy’ any more.”

“Well it’s going to be confusing around here with two ‘Lukes,’ ” Luke replied. “’Cause I sure as hell am not giving this name up.”

A Gentle Soul - 2

A Gentle Soul

I gently teased Erin the other day when she posted a new Bian chapter a year after the last. Then I realized that I have a series that had gone dormant. This one is my secondary series, and will only be updated at a monthly level (roughly). I hope you enjoy it. It was fun to write: Dawn.

This is the landing page for A Gentle Soul, an occasional series that I will be posting. It rips off the Grimm Brothers (who actually appear in Part 2) and J.R.R. Tolkien, the master of all epic fantasy. If you've seen The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies, but not read the books, get yourself to a library or bookstore and read them. I liked the movies, but the books are glorious.

Politics is... pretty international at times. [2.2]

Politics is like a river... no, that’s not right?
Politics is like a cess pit... closer, but no.
Politics is... is...
I have no idea, I guess?

Maybe we’ll get an answer to that question eventually, huh?

Events unfold including but not limited to:
John screaming,
Metal walls being dented badly,
and Hannah gets distracted at a bad time.

085 – A Long Way on a Long Day

The Legion

A raindrop falls directly onto a boy in an ebony black leather tunic with hems and seams of shiny silver. He wears a belt of silver with a belt buckle of an eagle with fists crossed into an X behind. On his chest is a Velcro patch of a red shield. His face was smooth and pretty, and his body so small and petite that the tunic he wears was a baggy on him. He wasn’t always that way, but due to recent events. His body is turning that way.

The man in front of him wears the same tunic and belt. Only on his chest is a silver shield with silver fists crossed X, and a star on the top.

Category-testing

The winds whipped and swept across the city’s block as a gorgeous, young girl stride her way through it, hair dancing and flying through the wind, and skirt fluttering with it.

It was mid-December and all the young girl had on was a blouse and skirt with shorts under her plaid skirt. Her socks came knee high with a very uniformed patterned.

Despite her lack of insulation, the girl was warm as the others with insulation. She took long strides with her shapely legs and proud demeanor.

A certain superverse

Hey friends, updated this for later as I'm planning a romance story between two of the more fleshed out characters. I'm really enjoying creating this world and adding stories to it. I don't know what else I'll add but I have a huge ass world to play with and I'm excited to actually start the writing about all these places. I decided to go a more realistic root, so you'll see a bunch of new fields of study and possible stuff if this did happen. Though I'm not too sure about Europe being utterly wrecked by this, I really didn't want to write in them. It's hard enough creating a whole two nations and fixing a third. Again, if you want to add some canon into this, please don't hesitate on messaging me your idea. Most of this world is vague so you can play with it as you please, just don't get too crazy. Anyway, enjoy :3

The Angel of Chicago: Part 17

I'm sorry this is a bit late. I kept feeling dissatisfied and re-writing. It felt too passive. Finally, as I lay in bed waiting for sleep, I realized a solution. I started on it first thing this morning. This is the result.

The Job 49

CHAPTER 49
My alarm’s tone was slow to permeate my consciousness, or, to put it more simply, my body was in a state of denial. Loud buzzing? Na. I’m asleep. Staying that way. Which is why, ever since the second day of working shifts, I put the damned thing well out of reach.

The light was showing around the edges of the heavy curtains I had bought after my first set of night shifts, and I knew it was really time to get moving, but there was a bloody great arm across me.

Rewind. Blake’s arm.

A Woman-less Beauty Pageant: It was the zipper’s fault 4

Previously
Ronnie arose from the couch and walked over to the kitchen table. His car keys were there and so were the lipstick and the wadded note that Angel (Drew) had given him yesterday at the pageant tryout…the note with Angel’s (Drew’s) phone number and address. Ronnie stared at it for a minute or two and then reached down and picked up the note.

Chapter 4 – Do you want to dance?

A conversation in the plains

The guy looked at the girl who sat next to him about a arm’s length away. She was wearing a slightly translucent white dress, that started to become even more see through due to the heavy rain in the plains. Under the dress, he could see that she was wearing purple lingerie, with a garter belt that held on to skin tone stockings, similar to the colour of her skin.

Chapter 21 - Aleppo

Fred hit a ramp that veered off to the right and the helicopter swung around to be seen clearly from the passenger window.

“Hey, the chopper is the other way!” I said more shrilly than intended.

Derek snorted. “Fourteen kilometers of proper highway versus eleven through the Old Quarter and possible crowds? Chill. Fred knows what he’s doing.”

A Second Chance

Okay, I messed up. Somewhere along the story I started thinking this was Bobby’s 11th birthday, when in fact he was 9, turning 10. I have corrected the last chapter, but want to mention so people aren’t confused at how he got a year younger: Dawn

Flight of the Claymore -chapter 1

Flight of the Claymore

Pathfinder: Jarg: Settling Down

Jarg had been in the town for about two weeks or so. The inn was okay, but the rooms were rather cramped for someone of his size.

He continued to do the occasional deliveries to folks around the town or outside of it, earning coins that kept him fed and housed.

One day, while he was relaxing in his usual spot not far from the main hearth, a rather large man wandered into the main area of the tavern and spent a moment looking around at the few people sitting there, then spotted Jarg relaxing as he often did when he had no work to do.

Disco Doll ~ Part 3

Jacie went to extreme lengths to help a pretty girl struggling with her past. The result was an unexpected twist of fate.

Author’s Note: OK, I’ve taken a step back and made some edits to my third part. My overall storyline is the same, but I have tweaked some things a bit. I know it’s taken a while, but I am also in the midst of trying times, myself. Anyway, I’ll continue to keep a thumb on the pulse of responses (comments and kudos) moving forward and will gauge whether continuing the story is something that seems to be desired, or not.

Thanks for everyone’s support!

HUGS!

The Job 48

CHAPTER 48
I was home, in several different ways, including the return to my flat in Cardiff. Mam and Dad understood, just as they could see how I was healing, and why. Each day was a reminder of how the way my work is depicted on large and small screen is so completely wrong.

It isn’t boring, though it sounds like it should be, for it involves an awful lot of reading, inwardly digesting and cross-referencing. I imagined Sean’s boys felt much the same, and the closest experience I can give as an example is in solving a particularly complex cryptic crossword. Everything is there; you just need to find out why.

Chapter 53
The cabin. The fire lookout tower. And a hint.

Amy and I were now at a cabin in the mountains. And we were completely alone, except for whoever was in the fire lookout tower that was a mile away. And maybe a bear or two.

Our first night there had been great. In fact, we were awoken by the Sunlight peeking in the window.

Pathfinder: The Trio: Side quest

(Author’s note: you should probably read the previous stories first)

It was a new morning in the large town of Fiddler’s Vale, and three recent arrivals debate their next move.

Goruza, Emerald, and their new friend Milah sat at a small table in the dining area of the inn they had come to the night before, talking as they ate breakfast.

Emerald asked Milah, “You’ve been in this town, where do we go for help in rescuing Besh?”
