In this chapter, Emily finds herself thrust into the cold, unyielding environment of a police station, the weight of her actions pressing down on her with every step. The harsh fluorescent lights and the relentless questions amplify her fear, leaving her wondering what comes next. But just when the walls feel like they’re closing in, Emily’s world takes an unexpected turn.
A suitor and a trip to the doctor's office keep Stevie on edge. Once again, I am
a wordy writer, so only read if words are something you enjoy. Also, if you complain
that you don't understand a character's motivation while also admitting you skipped
parts of the story, then... never mind.
I hope you're all remaining well. These are such stressful times. God bless.
The State Troopers waited at their roadblock. All other traffic was diverted. It was just them and the armed fugitives headed their way at high speed in a hot - in more ways than one - muscle car. The brigands could outrun the police ground vehicles, and even the helicopters, but not the radios. The Troopers stood in the afternoon sun, sweaty, tense and edgy, shotguns and assault rifles at the ready.
In which Bill finds his safe spot in a forest, or is it a tall stone tower? Well we'll see. Also, where Ruth decides on the topic for her course paper on the Cold War. How exciting can you get!
"Look, Diana," I said, "I'm sorry I had to tell you no. I wanted to go with you, and I thought that I could." She started to say something, but I put up my hand. "Wait. The thing is, Miranda is smart. She's fun to be with, and she's the same size as me —"
"Come on, Chapters!" she scolded, "Nobody gives a bleep about your bleeping height!" (Yes, she really did say "bleep" and "bleeping"!)
“Get it out of here!” Rachel sobbed. “Get it out!”
“Why don’t you get it Eric?” Victoria said in a low tone, just loud enough for Erika to hear.
“I don’t like snakes either… why should I?” Erika asked.
“Because you’re a guy!” Victoria growled as Rachel screamed again.
The blood suddenly drained from Erika’s face. Victoria knows! Oh my God! Victoria knows! The world around her began to spin.
“You know the worst mistake I ever made?”
“No, Toni, what’s that?”
“Giving you up.”
“You’re drunk.”
“Yeah, but I still think it was the worst mistake I ever made.”
“Oh really? You seemed pretty damn sure about it that day back in the hospital five years ago.”
Becoming Antonia Part 11
By The drunk chick with the red hair, & Zomba The Great!
“Sorry,” I said resuming my examination of her tongue and chest. Keen to move my examination on my hand drifted to her lower regions, and began to slip up her thigh towards the promised land. Just as thing’s were getting really interesting the peace was shattered.
It was Gordy: “Right, lads, put down who you’re doing and gather round. Lesley’s got a plan to fix Professor Prick for good.”
"From tears? I don't think so. But if I was in your position, I think it might be nice if someone simply held me for a moment, just so my body knew I wasn't entirely alone." He allowed me to hug him and he sobbed in my arms, I wanted to cry too.
At that, George leaned forward and kissed me on the cheek.
“Goodnight Alex.”
“Yeah… goodnight.”
I watched him go up the stairs and heard his room door close. I poured myself another drink and sat down, opening my bag and taking out my cigarettes to light one. Three or four more drinks later, and another couple of cigarettes, I was going to bed as well. My brain was in turmoil and had all sorts of thoughts running through it.
Amongst that turmoil, was a single, important question that I was trying to answer: What am I?
"Good Lord!" my aunt exclaimed as she looked at my arms and listened to my story. "How many days is it? Not even four days as a girl, and your life is an adventure!"

“Ambassador, could you show us some of the scientific wonders while we are down there?” Tonya asked.
“I’ll show you what I can, Princess……. Some of our newer inventions, however, are still secret.”
“What are the ladies wearing now?” Marie asked.
“Pretty much whatever they please.”
Nancy Patterson’s Criss-crossed Christmas Pageant
By Jennifer Brock
Nancy Patterson’s Christmas Pageant would be talked about for years, but not the way she’d been dreaming it would. (No offense is intended toward those who are active in their respective congregations.)
"Don't worry Cathy, I'm too bloody old anyway, I'd probably need Viagra which would give me a heart attack, and serve me right. So, then you'd have to run the project on your own and I couldn't leave you to do that."
"Thank you for that," I smiled back.
"Well I don't want it cocked up, do I? My reputation is riding on this."

After I opened the first box my little voice said to make sure everything listed on the invoice was inside. As I read down the list it kept pointing out mistakes over and over. Many items were missing! Not only that the amounts charged did not add up correctly.
"My name is --- ah, my name is ---," Lizzie Jane stopped for a moment, seemed to go into deep thought and then exclaimed, "I don't know! I don't know who I am!"
"We are not far from the truck stop. Maybe some food will help. Remember, I will be buying. Oh, by the way, when was the last time you ate?" asked Joe.
"I don't know that, either," said Lizzie Jane. "I know it has not been recently.".
So there I was sailing along, with my return ticket on the Titanic, totally unaware of such things as the existence of icebergs, let alone my impending impact. It seemed, I had all the mental acuity of ‘Homer Simpson’, at times anyway.
I got a call from mom, right after the NASCAR banquet. My dad died. He was driving back from his doctors office earlier this afternoon, after a routine check of the kidney transplant he received a few years ago. Everything was looking pretty good. However, while driving back home from Syracuse, he slumped over and plowed head long into a bridge abutment on the highway.
"Only because I recognise suitable habitats, but the vandals who farm these days, with their bloody flail cutters, make it harder and harder." I was on my soapbox. Normally, Agnew would light the blue touchpaper and enjoy the fireworks, but in front of Pippa, the Dean was not going to let that happen.

As Miss C. praised Emma’s re-mastery of basic functions Kirk too began feeling better about himself. His new life as a young woman was not so bad, he thought. It was getting harder to remember his old life.
I'm glad to say that nothing wild happened in church. No one recognized me; there were no slapstick moments. I think Miranda was a little disappointed, until we ran into the odious Robert outside.
"Hey, baby," he said to me. "Did you get my little gift?"
"Don't call me 'baby'," I told him, "and yes, I did get it."
I won't go through every detail of the day, but I will say that it didn't take me long to realize that Alice was joking when she said that waxing was fun. AND that it was nothing like waxing floors.

Kirk gradually became aware of Emma’s thoughts. He was “riding around” inside like he did with Marlene. He felt Emma touch and bump into things, lifted her skirts over the mud and thanked our creator for the chance to work inside during the winter. His fingers sewed the rips and tried not to get burned on the hot irons!
