As we sat, eating our breakfasts, I was in a very happy mood, as were the others. I did, however, notice that a few of the tables had empty places and wondered fleetingly if there were still some girls who didn’t accept what had happened yet...

As seen in A New Style of Education (in July of 2005) Rachel Ruiz is the Head of the Support Staff, and the previous year (as seen in Hidden Gifts), Kate Mayhew was head. What happened? Another staff change occurred at the same time. Dr. Sue only recently became the primary internist for the school. What happened to cause this change? Did something happen last year to cause this staff change? Was the change voluntary? I wrote this interlude to rationalize, in my mind, why some people in important positions might leave without jeopardizing the school — And, in the case of Rachel, lay the groundwork (in my mind) for why they recruited a new Head, rather than promoted from within.

Contemplating the evening's events as he sits in his room brings Andrew to the thoughts of meeting Alexandra's Father. ‘I had no idea. I should have guessed it would be something like that. She has the bearing of someone who has had imperial training. She must have recognized me the first time she saw me. Now I remember where it was I saw her, it was in my Father's bank in Percoin and I must have been about ten and she nine.

Cal is a 16 year old boy who has been chasing the girl of his dreams almost all his life. When some pesky nanites infect Cal and turn him into a girl how will he deal with it? Will he still be the same person or will he become someone else when the girl now in him takes over?

I drove home through the storm, but I didn’t expect a reception.

This chapter addresses Chrissies eventual arrival at Skipper's cottage and then deals with some of the preliminary issues surround Chrissie's adjustments to finding herself in a liberal and all importantly, supportive environment.
