Mel prepares for her first semester at Braintree. After graduating from middle school she is not as protected as she was. A near escape. Once at Braintree, things start taking on a momentum of their own.

“’Dad, hold still can’t you?”

“I’m trying. Can’t you see that.”

“If you don’t then I could stick this mascara wand right into your eye.”

“I know. Just get on with it ok? I don’t want to be late.”

I looked at my daughter sternly.

I smiled back at her.

Lindsey grinned back at me.
