Trying to find a story

Was reading a book awhile back about a guy that is mistaken as a girl while taking a exam for the school to choose 2 boys and 2 girls to go to a exclusive school, he is emancipated and a singer who sings disguised as a girl, he meets a girl and ends up transitioning

Natalie Barrett's Tuck Everlasting

I thought I would talk about Natalie Barrett's children's book, Tuck Everlasting. It is a story, written in the late nineteen-seventies. It starts in early 19th century America. A pioneering family, the Tucks, stumble upon a spring with water that gives them immortality when drunk. Although it take them another some years to realize it, they find they have to go undercover to go on living their lives. Because each time their secret is discovered, they are denounced as demons, devils, or witches.

Reposting my Gaby trilogy

I'm going to repost the three books that make up my fanfic Gaby in Dorset Trilogy here. I've agreed this with Mads who of course invented the
main characters that the story involves.but is different enough to show my take on the Gabyverse, a bit more angst and action all with my off-beat sense of humour. For those who haven't seen them before, do enjoy them, for those who have seen them, do enjoy them again. I'm re-editing as I go along so they should read slightly better.

I have added and edited to the first chapter of my new story I posted

I have began another story here and I wonder. I call it Fugitive from the republic and its a story set in the star wars and its like a fan fiction from it. But I wonder if there are enough fans here that like that sort of thing or not. And I wonder if anyone would be interested in helping me with it. This chapter is really as far as I have so far. Its an idea thats been in my head for some time but its as far as I have thought to. I have some ideas how to proceed

Happy New Year BC Authors

This week I turn 75 and am enjoying life more than ever due to my writing. It does not matter to me if people write poor reviews, I just love the process of creating a story over weeks or months. Everyone has their own tastes and desires.

Resolutions

According to one article the most popular New Year's Resolutions are:

  1. Exercise more
  2. Lose weight
  3. Get organized
  4. Learn a new skill or hobby
  5. Live life to the fullest

That same article states that people making resolutions are successful 46% percent of the time.

My success ratio for the hundreds of resolutions I've made is zero.

However, I'm curious if any of you have made a resolution regarding your writing or reading practices on BC.

Looking for a story

I’m looking for two stories

One is about someone makes a bet with a friend because his girlfriend who I think is named M (something) left him so he can’t get a promotion because it doesn’t look like he is settling down. His friend has to pretend to be her in front of his boss I think it was on Crystal story site and the male character might be named John.

The other one is a body swap where a young male student maybe a musician swaps bodies in the middle of the night with his teacher who is having sex with her husband and ends up being a better mom.

Cathy called

Cathy Michel called me from a rehab hospital to ask me to post a blog for her. She's getting better and is hoping to be able to go home soon but her energy is very low. She can visit the site on her laptop now, but posting is a bit more effort than she has stamina for.

Keep her close to your heart, please, she's part of what makes BigCloset such a wonderful friendly place.

Hugs,
Erin

Thank you

I think I first discovered this site when I was about 14 or 15. I must've come here every day to read the stories posted here. These stories got me through the absolute worst moments in high school. I fell off when I went to university, but throughout the pandemic I was feeling nostalgic and I went back through the site (and some old bookmarks) to re-read some of my favourites. It was crushing seeing how many names have since been added to the memoriam. I just wanted to thank everyone.

Maybe it's only interesting to me but these were some of my absolute favourites as a teen:

What? Another story? How did that happen? In my problems over the last few months, I sometimes had trouble focusing on certain things. This was a new idea which came to me at one time and I ran with it.

Blessings To You

Catherine Linda Michael, we have talked for over 14 years I think, I don't really know now.

I hope that you have recovered from your punctured lung and that eventually life will again be as normal as possible. I do hope that your Holliday was pleasant for you and those with you.

Much peace

I had hoped to offer you another chapter of Ontario this evening, -'ve got as far as first draft on the site but despite many attempts it won't preview so I can't post it. (this is from my phone). After best part of 2 hours of trying i've now given up, life is too short to waste it waiting for the site to work.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

Hoping for all to have a safe(!) holiday. I'll admit to being rather bummed by most of my family deciding not to come out and visit due to concern for my Mom, as her health hasn't been good for over a score of years. Understandable and likely the wise course of action, but some of them I haven't seen now for two years and I'd really been looking forward to finally having everyone together. Instead we'll just have to continue holding 'em all in our hearts.

Comments on Moments of Madness - a reach out to give support to others.

I wanted to comment on my story, "Moments of Madness", and offer some support to people who might feel similar, even if different, to how I felt at that time.

I am reposting the story mainly because I needed to fix it up and get it out there again. This is mostly because it is to help me and my feelings I have now, but maybe someone who reads it might feel a connection, and it might help them, perhaps.

Riley will return soon

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to make sure to let you know that I have been able to write again. My two jobs kept me busy the last few months and I have been struggling with anxiety and mental health in general as well. Mostly due to Covid but other things as well.

I will soon post the next part to "The life of Riley". I'm sorry for the long wait. I hope I didn't disappoint anyone too much.

recommending a Non-TG book

I know that there are fans of classic Sci- fi here and I have just finished what I believe is the best robot book since Isaac Asimov. It's Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguru. Ishiguru is a brilliant writer and takes Klara to a level beyond what Asimov did in his robot novels.

Introductions

So Joyce gave an idea of posting a blog to say Hi, and introduce myself.

So, a few people might remember me back in the ages as Malisa, Winc, or Moonwinc. I have gone through so many handles in my time I feel like a bit of a Handle Slut :D

Anyway I have been Goldendawn for a very long time, and during my time as an Author I have been creating stories, captions, and now mostly comics.

Stealing One's Life Hours

Each of us has only so many minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years in this life. There is no buying or bartering for more. When others steal our labors they steal part of our life. There is no way to replace the time in our life stolen from us. Most figure it's a monetary thing. lost finances but it's much more. As I was skimming the net this never came up in Google but it did in Bing. If one is looking to find how many sites reference back to one's accomplishments it wouldn't hurt to use several different search engines.

Update on Gwen Brown

A bit of an update, Gwen's cellulitis is doing better, although she is still quite miserable and the medication is making her very tired. She is on her second course of antibiotics, they would have kept her in the hospital but Covid is using up most of the beds. She would like to thank everyone who messaged her or answered her blog to wish her well. For the time being, I'm going to be a go between to help her be able to rest, so feel free to ask me questions.

The Big C

I have published just a very short piece of whimsy today, from some of my older material which really ought to be up here as BC is my true home.

I have to confess that I have written nothing for a few weeks. I received the results of some tests last month and last week I was rushed into hospital for the removal of a large chunk of me. I am slowly recovering from that.

There I was...

working away in front of my log fire on my entry for the Christmas Comp when disaster struck.

It was my third attempt at a story when a Christmas Film came on the TV. Five minutes in, and I knew that the 3,000 odd words that I'd written were junk. The plot of the film and my story were almost identical. For a moment, I felt like throwing my MacBook at the TV but I didn't. I'd certainly not seen the film before and was made in 2019.

My muse saw the similarity and promptly exited stage left into the distance at a great rate of knots and that's it.
