Cannot Find a Story

I recently read and enjoyed a story written from the point of view of Princess Ozma of Oz. It was the first posting of to be of several about Princess Ozma, her transformation from the boy Tip, and the struggles caused by that transformation. I believe it was from "The Land of OZ" written by L. Frank Baum more than 100 years ago. It was the first Oz book I knew. It was a sequel to "Dorothy and the Wizard of OZ" from which the movie was made. I read most of them eventually. My mother read it to me when I was about five or six.

Halfway!

Poking at the Light project in Scrivener for Hope's Light this morning, I realized that with Friday's chapter the first half of the book has now been posted. Being in seven 'Parts' in terms of its structure, this means we're halfway through Part Four...and rapidly heading towards the tipping point where things steamroll towards the finale!

Apologies

To any who may read my latest posting "An Unexpected Christmas Gift (Omnibus Edition)". I found the "Create Content" heading very unco-operative in editing the story, mostly in spacing to make it readable. Being frustrated I decided to post anyway and will continue to edit in "My Stories" which seems to be far more forgiving to a computer Klutz like me, so please bear with me for a couple of days.

To readers of my continuation of "My Summer in Pantyhose"

I appreciate the Kudos. What I'm wondering is just how well did I do in picking up the storyline and the writing style that Jeremy Chandler used.

It was a stretching of my writing skills to run multiple story arcs at the same time. I had particular trouble keeping multiple time lines running parallel. That and I haven't written in third person in years.

So what do you think; did I accomplish my goal of making a seamless transition of authors and did I do a credible job of taking the story where it needs to go?

Follow up to Guilty Until Proven Innocent

I finished the stand alone follow-up to Gulity Until Ptoven Inncoent. I am going to start putting it up one chapter at a time. It is five chapters with an epilogue. I hope people enjoy it. Happy Thanskgiving.

The end?

This post is more to give myself some closure before I move on to other avenues.

I want to publicly acknowledge that I am no saint, I burned my bridges one by one over the years.

Some things that happened that essentially made me public enemy #1 on BCTS I’ve never forgiven myself for being involved with.

Holiday week posting My Summer in Pantyhose

This week having a holiday on Thursday, I'm posting a day early; Monday and Wednesday rather than Tuesday and Thursday.

Next week I will revert to Tuesday and Thursday as planned.

Time to binge read "My Summer in Pantyhose" by Jeremy Chandler.

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

Blog About:

Author:

I've finished writing what I'm calling a "Prologue of My Continuation of My Summer in Pantyhose." It's a chapter by chapter summary of the 24 chapters posted by Jeremy Chandler. The intended purpose is to allow those who've read the original to refresh their memories as to what gone on up to this point.

If you haven't read the original, this probably isn't for you. Binge read "My Summer in Pantyhose" instead.

Question: Nearly ready to post my continuation of Jeremy Chandlers tale.

I'm nearly ready to post my continuation of Jeremy Chandler's "My Summer in Pantyhose." I've continued it to the 2nd week in September. While it obviously leaves the reader wanting more, the title limits the tale to the "summer," so it ends with just a glimpse of what may be to come.

Here's Jake!

I spent some time with AI, and found that it really has a problem doing the little things. Jake has two different colored eyes, and it took me forever to get that done how I wanted. I went through, quite literally, hundreds and hundreds of images before I found my Jake. https://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/fiction/104259/mister-sister-... Jake face final.jpeg

Anybody Remember this story

A young man, the soul survivor of an attack on a wagon train to the west is transformed into a copy of a dying young woman to care for her baby by an alien device. Later found by the woman’s young son and husband. He is persuaded to continue west with them to care for the boy and baby. Gradually falling for her new family.

I had the story saved on a now dead kindle as a document and cannot find it on my laptop.

Reorganization

My reorganization attempt may have backfired.

I created four categories for most of my stories, but instead, I seem to have warded off some of my stories. Before, all of my 20 odd stories were listed on the right side, with attempted alphabetization getting around the word, "the". But now, only the categories are listed except for the one category being accessed.

Two categories approach 200 hits. The other two have hits in the mid-two-digits.

Anything I can do, besides live with it or undo the reorganization?

Character Reboot.

I've been having a bit of writers block for a good while now. Ideas seem to come and go without really take root. A friend of mine suggest that I reboot one of my character and see were the reboot takes me. At first I thought that was a crazy idea. But then I decided to go ahead and give it a good. So as of writing this I'm working on rebooting a character that showed a lot of promise but just seemed to run out of steam. So hopefully before the year is out you guys and gals would treated to a rebooted Persphone Sharbrough.

Alternative History

Yesterday I posted a story from my Amazon anthology of historical stories - Amazon link below.
I have always been interested in Alexander the Great, and his early death frustrated and puzzled me. His love affair with Hephaestion was well known, and losing him affected Alexander greatly (no pun intended). I simply thought that there was a story to tell.
I would interested in hearing about other TG alternative history stories out there.

Have you read, "My Summer in Pantyhose," by Jeremy Chandler?

I'm looking for someone who's read "My Summer in Pantyhose," by Jeremy Chandler. I've picked up that story and written a fan-fiction completion. I've taken Jamie through the summer and ended the tale in September when Jamie's a freshman in high school.

Middlesex, Smyrna, and the future of America

Middlesex won the Pulitzer for fiction in 2003 and is one of those books that stayed with me long after I finished. I won't go into details so as not to spoil but I will say I think many here would enjoy it. It's one of those books that has scenes that pops into my mind often and one event in particular - the Burning of Smyrna.

My mojo is back!

Or, as Dorothy would say, I've got some spoons again. I was really struggling with the story I'm working on but last night, it started to flow again. I don't know if it was just a difficult transition in the story, or if it was the dreaded 'writer's block' as I'm still very new at this author thing, I'm just glad it is over.

Parts are parts!

Parting is such sweet sorrow...yet a party can be great fun! What a difference just one letter makes...

Anyway, I remembered that I'd promised to indicate when the different 'parts' of the new book Hope's Light had been posted, for those readers who prefer the previous posting method of many chapters at once which allowed binging the story in larger bursts. As such, yep, Part One is indeed completely posted! It completes with Chapter Four: Enemies.

October Contest

I only just go back on the weekend so I hope that the story I have just posted gets into the contest - does it close tomorrow?

I know that the stories are supposed to be horror tales, but "Planter's Moon" is really only a horror to the lead character.

Please post any thoughts under the story.

A “Touch Starved” person in Germany

Today one of the “Random Solo” recommendations was Touch Starved by Bailey Summers (her main story content page is here). We would all do well read this powerful, raw and painful story. Despite the “Adult Oriented” rating this story is absolutely NOT erotica, graphic sex or porn, but just pure emotional pain and desperation, that fortunately ends in a glimmer of hope.

Considering the complexity of this saga, readers earlier requested a listing of characters. So here's an update for Book 6! Thanks all!

Warning!

If you have not read Books 1-5 (Into The Light, Light's Promise, Call of the Light, Light and Shadow, and The Light Between) then the list below will contain spoilers!!

The tale starts here: Into The Light. Hope you enjoy!
