Karin Bishop's Port of Arrival

I've read several of Karin's books and like many TG authors she puts together arguments as to why we are just ordinary people trying to get on with our lives, however, in this book, she cleverly introduces the fact that we all know something, because everybody does, like the burning of bras by ardent feminists or George W Bush's ranch, no bras were ever burnt, just dumped in a bin - the burning being journalistic embellishment, second, George Bush was never a cowboy or had a ranch, she asserts that he doesn't like horses, may even be afraid of them - probably the only thing he and I have in

Officially Done, Finished, Kaput...

It is finally clear that stories by Gwen Brown, Ahabidah and any other pseudonym I have used, do not get read, Kudo, or Commented on. It is senseless to ask you to pull my stories. Not angry, just finally facing reality.

Gamer Girl

Many will remember that authors Bryony Marsh and Chris Archer gave away copies of this ebook some while ago, I read it at the time and enjoyed it. I have just re-read it and i really did enjoy it, it captures the emotions of the characters very well and I think the difficulties of young-love story , with all its complications when you include some gender complications as well, and for a change Kate, the older sister of our hero, Danny, is a real brick and very protective and supportive of her younger sibling.

Are We Under Attack?

There seems to be a disconnect between various parts of the site. There have been no new comments registered for nearly 3 hours and 'Home' shows an entirely different hit and kudos count to 'My Stories'. Even logging in seems to make no difference.

Wings, Again

Another reason I like characters with bird wings is one of my favorite childhood books: The juvenile novel Black and Blue Magic by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. Wikipedia says it came out in 1967 and I must have first read it within a couple of years at most. I now have an ex-school library hardback book of the 1972 edition.

Anne McCaffery and Andre Norton on Kindle.

I was very much surprised to find some of the works of my childhood, on Kindle. Right now I am reading Dragon Riders of Pern, and enjoying it greatly. I haven't re-sampled Andre Norton yet, but assuming I don't encounter my mortality, plan to. Quite fun.

Longer Version

Can someone who read the longer version of _Unwanted Child_ in the anthology "Murder at the Shapeshifter's Ball" let me know what they thought of it?

I not only put more things I wanted in the longer version, I put some of the things from readers' comments about the shorter version.

Kalista "Your Wings Are Beautiful".

This story was in my Internet History when I started my computer this afternoon. I have no recollection of reading it recently, so when I checked, I read 4 chapters of it a decade ago, even commenting. Then suddenly the author just stopped and there are no further entries in this story or blog. It was a good story. I would have enjoyed more.

Just tried to post a new Short Story

Just tried to post a new Short Story at about 5:00PM, 3/24/2024. I do not see it on the Home Page. I'll go check on some things and then attempt to post it ONE more time and then stop. I will try to see if I failed to do something or it is a site issue.

Computer on its last legs :(

Well just when I started to get back into developing more story ideas, my computer has decided F you and isn't working properly anymore. Its making weird noises and keeps shutting itself off. I used to have the money to replace it but my account is all but empty now because life sucks. So just when things were FINALLY starting to look up for me, the universe is giving me the finger. :(

Spring Forward

IMG_1224_0.jpeg Good morning, everyone! And to all of you in the Northern Hemisphere, happy spring! (To my friends in the Southern Hemisphere . . . Sorry about that. :)

I know that Piper and Erin and the whole admin team have been working really hard to fix all the damage from the recent hacking incident. And I know that we aren’t back to normal functionality yet.

So What Should I Do Next?

These last few weeks have NOT been a good time for this site, have they? For what felt like a while, I kept clicking on links to pages associated with this site, only to be met with a blackwall. Apparently the site was having some issues. At first I was worried that the site might end up going down, and I'd lose all the TG stories I've published on here, but that turned out not to be the case. (Although, right now I'm trying to click on the "Home" tab, and it keeps logging me out. So maybe there are still some bugs left?)

AI Art

I've heard a lot recently about the 'rise of AI'. I've heard a lot about how it might be harmful to creators in the long run. Well... as someone who can't draw for shit, it's actually kinda useful to me. A while ago I used a (very limited) program called Fuse to create images of my characters as a sort-of mental aide. The problem with these images is that it made all my characters look about as lifelike as background characters from Skyrim. So I investigated this 'AI art generator' people were talking about... And I am impressed with its output so far.

The return of Holly Potter - Heiress of Slytherin

Hello everyone! I'm back! At least I will be soon. It's been a long time, I know, but I'm back to writing. I already have a few more chapters written, and will post the next chapter in the saga of Holly Potter soon(ish). I'm still working on carving out solid writing time in a very busy schedule, while also trying to rebuild at least somewhat of an active social life.

Looking for a story

Looking for auto racing stories.

Life’s a Drag by Zoe Taylor, Ashleigh McGreagor (my personal favorite)
Racing Angels and Speedway Demons by WolfJess7
Racing Hearts by Melanie Brown

Are there any others? I know of at least one which I cannot find. It was about a crossdresser who drove faster and better when he was dressed. I think that he wore a red wig if I remember right?

Story thief (updated)

So thank you Erin and crew for getting the site back and running, it seems my last blog was very badly timed.

In an unrelated note...

A friend made me aware of this, but a content "creator" on youtube has taken one of my stories and claimed it as their own. The took my story "Facades" renamed it "Trauma Unleashes Power" and put it to audio.

The stolen story is here:

Andre Norton and/or Teddy S ???

I have just finished reading "Beast Master" by Andre Norton, "Tommy, The Trials and Tribulations of a Girl" by Teddy S. and wonder if the two authors are one and the same?
The protagonists in both stories are Navajo and use some Navajo language words. "Na Ta Hey" is one phrase that is common to both stories. The similarity ends there. One story uses gender change and Andre Norton's does not. Though Andre Norton used more than one pen name. When she first started writing she used a male name to overcome prejudice against female authors.

It is interesting to mull this over.

Hello guys, gals and non-binary pals! How is everyone doing? It’s been a hot minute.

So, I’ve come down with bronchitis but still chugging along. I’m running on steroids, albuterol and cough drops but at least I’m alive!

BCTS Recommendations 2: A Strong Start

Are you ready? It's time for a second helping of...

BCTS Recommendations!

A Strong Start

Sometimes all it takes is one good sentence or paragraph to get you hooked on a story, and this time around, I want to see some recommendations of stories that do just that: stories that kick off with a bang, that grab you and rivet you to your seat and scream "read me!"

Acidalia

Was just looking at the comment on the story Acidailia 16. I viewed the traffic of some of the other chapters and am surprised that after being treated with such neglect by readers that the author would even bother. When a writer gets no encouragement, why continue? I get it.

Editor needed!

People may know me as that tiresome contributor who writes way too much and often produces stuff full of errors.
Which is why I need an editor when it comes to passing on my serious material to be turned into published works on Amazon through Doppler Press. Readers will know that Doppler revenues contribute to Big Closet Top Shelf so we all win if people buy my stories.
I have lost touch with Gabi and Bronwen is busy with other things. Eric is on standby for my more specialized collections but I am in need of an editor for the rest.

Struggling to write a branching story

Below is the start of a multi-part, branching (aka Chose Your Own Adventure) story I've been struggling to write for a while now, so I thought I'd share what I have so far, and see if anyone could offer any advice.

The two main branches seem to be leading to either crossdressing, or romance. The crossdressing branch is a bit less difficult, but I'm still worried about it turning into something predictable and boring. The romantic branch is something I don't have a lot of experience writing, so I'm worried I'll completely mess it up.

Does anyone out there have any experience writing branching stories? I'd also appreciate any advice on avoiding crossdressing tropes, as well as writing romance that's believable and interesting without diving into ... sex stuff. If you have anything to share on these or other stuff, I'd love to hear it! :)

A New Edition of Kelly Girl is out now!

That's right, folks! We've been working on a new, updated version of Kelly girl, and it's live now!

If you've never read the book before, but are a fan of Wanda's stuff, then I highly recommend giving the book a shot. It's a fantastic story, with some great characters.

If you HAVE read the story before, but haven't picked up the ebook and it's been a few years... then now's the ideal time to give it a re-read.
