I think I first saw this...
...at a convention in the early 80s, though I remember it as being in film class. Except I took college classes in film in 1976...? Maybe he really was a Wizard!
But yeah, I had sort of recognized your inspiration in your stories. :)

I saw this...
... a *long* time ago. A few years later, I saw the movie about the making of this short. A film critic called it wholly self-referential -- a movie about making the movie.
The movie upgraded the banana peel, sending him to a space shuttle instead of a 747.
It took me a moment to realize what you were talking about. Erin's comment about him being a wizard raised my ... something. And then I recognized the name Jittlov.
