Whaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Ok folks it is predicted to snow in San Antonio. Its teased us before with little bits that melt as soon as they hit and other times its all ice. The last snow we really got was 1985. That was a fun time the city was paralyzed for days schools were closed. Anyone who had a 4x4 made a killing in cash pulling cars out. I will believe it when I see it. And of course I work all day tomorrow so I will probably be the only one dumb enough to drive in. Oh yeah I said this would happen in my Christmas story, well its a few days late but I'll take it. Bundled up smiles, Jenn.

Moving forward (at last!)...

Everyone is posting pictures, I'll give it a try. I am still in male mode, but this is week 3 of HRT for me. Changes from the current photo include new studs (time to train my ears don't you know) and I am mostly wearing womans jeans now, like anyone but me can tell the difference.

They finally decided to give us Christmas vacation at work, after telling us repeatedly it wasn't happening. Good enough, I needed the down time.

This is me and my boy around 2004, he is the only reason I am still here.

Editor Sought for New Writer, story sample

First off, Merry Christmas BCTS. I've been lurking for a while and recently decided to post, but it took a few days for posting privelidges to clear. They cleared today so one of my Christmas gifts was the ability to post. Thank you to whoever cleared me.

First part of "The Christmas Ivy Bloomed" now up

Good afternoon (at least in my time zone) and Happy Holidays.

I probably just did the bravest thing I've done in years, just by clicking on the "submit story" button. There were times in the writing of this I was literally trembling in fear. One's first story is probably the hardest, as no one knows you, or what to expect. And you, the author, have no way of knowing what the reaction is going to be.

Rebecca Anderson's Wild Horses

We have an enormous body of talent with all of the author's here at BCTS. A few days ago, I discovered further proof of this talent when I found this wonderful story by Rebecca Anderson: http://bigclosetr.us/topshelf/title-page/4718/wild-horses-re...

I do not normally make blog posts, preferring to give kudos and the occasional comment; but after reading Wild Horses, I cannot remain silent.

More ideas, more stories

I happened to look through the notes I have stored on my computer, and came across some ideas I'd like to work on in future, but I'm kind of stuck as to how these stories should resolve themselves. Some are pretty thought-provoking and I'd have to be careful how I ended them. I fear that for some of them, a downbeat ending might be required, which likely would not go over well here. Some thoughts about where I might go with these ideas would be appreciated.

In response to my responders of my previous blog

Thank you to everyone who commented on my previous blog. I feel a bit more enlightened now, but there are some misunderstandings which I must clear up for all our sakes, and some more material for discussion. Here goes...

Uploading stories

As I'm planning to post the first parts of my story soon, I have a question. I type my stories using the Open Office application, and I'm wondering if I can upload the document somehow, or if I have to copy and paste the text into the appropriate box. If the latter, I have the feeling it'll remove all formatting, and I would hate having to, say, re-italicize all thoughts, for instance.

In defence of good men, transgendered or not

Today I spoke up on the lack of recognition of FtMs within this community. In response I was told that my concerns were silly, and I also witnessed a rather sexist remark. I found this to be insulting and hurtful, both personally AND impersonally.

I believed that this community was intended as a place for ALL people with some form of gender dysphoria.
Today I see one that caters exclusively to MtFs, and permits sexist remarks towards men.

Where do I hide?

A sad thing for me, just an hour or or two before the shooting started in CT, an 18 year old high school senior was arrested in my home town for plotting to trap the other students in the school auditorium and start shooting them, as many as he could. This was in the town I grew up in, the school I attended! He was caught because he was trying to get a couple of other teens to assist him, and at least one of them took his plan to the school officials. He also planned to set bombs at the entrances so he could blow up the police as they tried to enter the school.

O editor, where art thou?

I promised myself--and all of you--that I wouldn't talk about my story or the contest again here, but as with most of my promises, it was a far easier thing to make than to keep.

But I do have a good reason for breaking my promise. I've been spending the last few days--in between medical appointments, Christmas parties, and personal responsibilities--trying to pull together some 17,000 words of story fragments into something coherent. I have enough material in a decent-enough state of completion for the first two installments. From the looks of things, my little story is going to be a novella before I'm through, if not a full-fledged novel.

who's messin around

Fo the last couple of days, I have noticed the top half of the page is in a smaller than normal font, and the lower half is about 4 times that size and in bold, and some of the stories are popping up liike that, at least in my browser, which still unfortunately a windoze product. Is it on my end?

Yeehaaa! It's cold.

The first and probably only cold snap has hit South Texas. So we get our winter this year, according to extended forecasts this should last into the first part of January, but I'm skeptical. Time to go shopping for a winter wardrobe (I wish). Now I know you Yankees are poo pooing our winter, but when eight months out of the year temperatures are 95 ° and above you get excited when the cold comes. I will be enjoying my walks in the fresh morning air for awhile. So this Texas gal says bundle up little dogies and keep warm if you can, find someone to cuddle up with. Freezing smiles, Jenn.
