There are two ways to survive a night in the woods: - Keep your fire hot and sit close to it. Remember to wake up and feed the fire or build a huge fire capable of lasting the night. - Tie a hammock to many of the thinnest branches of a tree, so that a jaguar can`t reach you without breaking a branch and falling. You need to be a good climber to use this one. The second way is more complicated, but was used by many travelers in the past, with usual success. Chapter 8

I’d like to say that John was the guy.

That guy that if you’re transgendered and straight you’ve been looking for, the guy that I guess that all girls are looking for and while john’s a really nice guy. Sweet and smart, soulful and artistic and just a really, really decent guy.

He’s not that guy.

He’s a good lover and he’s attentive and demanding both and he’s fun but I don’t know? It could be the fact that why there’s chemistry between us it’s like making supper or even a romantic meal he’s not the guy that takes my breath away.

And I know, I know that that person might actually not even exist out there for me but I’ve made my choices. I’m looking for that person. I want a life.

Chapter 24

“I’m here Dylan…I’ll help you ride through this…and things will be better in the morning.”

“Better…”

She snuggles so close to me.

“Yes, better…I promise.”

Looking at myself I wanted to shout every expletive I knew. I tried to remember sentences and fragments of old English, but I couldn’t, only reinforcing my unfortunate predicament. It literally was all foreign to me. I’m guessing that anything I’ve learned from a later life can’t be remembered in this one. As in fact, the only thing I could remember was that I was a man.

McKenzie continues waiting for the custody issue is settled and Father is removed from control over medical care decisions. The teacher who was at Bryce Canyon now wants to talk to McKenzie's mother. McKenzie sees the first signs of puberty begin to emerge and becomes desperate.

CHAPTER 39
It went on. I dropped in when I could, as the first session tore his health to shreds, and he would be there, silent and grey, staring into space. There were times he didn’t speak, just holding my hand, tears falling, and there were other times.

“No, Ian, I had your promise, aye? Just two more days and home with me, and Larinda will do better stuff than you’re getting here”

“Not eating it, lass”

“And why not?”

The next morning a light snow was coming down as I made my early way to the office, this time I was dressed in a nice pant-suit with a paisley print blouse in darker colours and a pair of black, hopefully antiskid, low heeled pumps, very businesslike.

I called James’ office first thing even though it was still slightly before eight there. Surprise, surprise, I actually reached a live person, or at least they or it could interact with me verbally, “ I wish to leave a message for Mr. Thompson. This is Lynnette Stevens and I’m afraid that I shall be unavailable to accompany his entourage while in Vail.”

“Hey, what are you laughing at?” Rayne was smiling though and put her hands on her hips.

I do a few more giggles and take a few deep breaths and look at her. “I’m laughing at that. I’m sorry honey I know this was supposed to be fun. But that is way too lesbian girl advanced for me right now.”

Martine is interviewed by the Police. The "Shadowman" returns and Marty learns she has a mystery to solve...
There are still characters to introduce in subsequent parts but one question is answered rather emphatically. Do, please comment on the tale, I have plans for Martine and her world... But cannot hint about them just yet... Spoilers dear readers!
