Elizabeth gets a first look into Amber's life outside her online presence and by all accounts Amber's life was everything hers wasn't. From supportive parents to no lack of clothing - how was it this kid turned to the underbelly of the internet and why? Is there's something brewing between Elizabeth and Paul?

THE BIG TRIP UP is a book about a strange place called The Domain. And the story is sort of like that WHO KILLED ROGER RABBIT movie, because it is about characters who I don't think could ever be alive in a World that is REAL like this one, except these are puppets and not Toons, and also there aren't any regular human people in this book until the very end and then only one, and he is dead but then he is alive again...

The beginning of the end is the end of the beginning (unknown philosopher).

The whole world witnessed it. A red supergiant star, Betelgeuse, exploded in a supernova. That star had only one terraformed planet, Betelgeuse VII. 96% of the population was rescued and relocated to a sister planet, Betelgeuse S, located at ten light years away. Press in the whole galaxy commented about this event.

Alex and Nicole (chapter 3)

I looked at Nicole's grinning face, the hot chocolate coated her big toe
and was spreading over her stocking. Her legs were crossed and her
bouncing foot was close to my face now. She sipped on her hot chocolate and
watched me over the brim of the cup without saying a word. The steam didn't
cover the playful glint in her eyes. The rule was though, I had to be asked, uhm
told? To lick her toes. So I just watched her foot bouncing, inches from my face.

Looking at the glimmer of the embers in the fireplace which were now almost gone Garrus gathered his thoughts before heading up after Drew. Back in his room he looked around to find Drew lying on his bed, rolled together in the fetal position close to the wall, holding a pillow to his head, sobbing.

Elizabeth navigates the clues and a suspicion that someone knows more about her past than she'd like. The hunt for Amber reveals a dark side that cuts too close for comfort.

Alex and Nicole (chapter 2)

She said it was going to be fun... fun? For who?

"Fun" I asked. I really wanted this, but I had to put up a front of
objection, then it seemed more like I was being forced to do so. Hmmm.
Even though there were not many choices it seemed, naked or a maid.
Running around in the house wearing only her underwear was a bit demeaning,
so wearing a French Maids dress would solve that completely.
There must be some logic there somewhere. Right? Uhm.

Notes: Sorry this took so long. On top of my usual issues, I got a head cold that hung around for at least two weeks and decimated my energy to do things. I'm still not fully recovered, but I'm about 85 to 90 percent recovered.

A Gentle Soul - Conclusion

Here is the conclusion to the story. I apologize to those who liked the fairy tales in the story. The Grimm brothers do not play much of a role in this one: Dawn.

The company made its way into Southfarthing, where they broke up. The hobbits left for Fangorn with the pony cart containging the wood (and Entwives) while Ruth rode her little donkey cart pulled by Hansel and Gretel on towards her home.

Chapter 9: 198-199 CE: Dancing With a Caravan

Behind the main buildings on the middle pastures a finger of the mountain ridge surged skyward. The ridge ended in a cliff running northwest to southeast soaring 150 feet high. There was a rockfall scree 600 feet wide, 65 feet high at the cliff sloping down at a 45° angle. Tents were set up for the slaves and the things Raben had brought. The trees that had grown atop the scree were cut down for logs and lumber. A bridge of sturdy logs with a plank surface was built over the diverted stream Raben and Ulixes had created years before. Starting in the middle of the scree, Raben had them dig out the footprint for a sturdy stone and log building that he named the Elder House. The layout would be half into the scree and half beyond.
