Chapter 4

He loitered for half an hour, waiting for me to emerge, but I knew he was there with his emotional signature. I was getting tired anyway, so I pulled a couple of jumpers on, curled into a ball, used my backpack as a pillow and tried to get some sleep. I couldn't really settle down until I felt him leave. Then, despite not feeling that comfortable, I couldn't keep my eyes open and drifted off.

Hunter’s Supply Warehouse:
Carla had managed to locate another Hunter supply depot. She goes about gathering items to resupply her depot. While she is gathering her supplies and placing special design explosives to destroy everything. She hears a familiar voice coming from the darkness.

“Hello, Carla. It’s good to see you again.” Robert Caron steps out of the shadows towards Carla.

Carla turns around when she hears Robert’s voice. A smile appears on her face behind her helmet.

Chapter 6   Our first date

The elation from striking a deal with Samantha’s Father that Phoebe felt soon died down when they were faced with the task of moving Samantha out of her home and into somewhere else within two months. Even so, their relationship got stronger and stronger now that they didn’t have to hide it from anyone.

In between house hunting, Samantha continued with her plan to add some panache to Phoebe’s life and especially her appearance. Gradually her stock of ‘lawyer drab’ diminished and was replaced by clothes that were much more vibrant in colour and style. They were all what was regarded as ‘retro’ in style but Phoebe started to see that there was a certain elegance and charm in that. The downside, at least in Phoebe’s eyes was that the style really demanded at least some sort of heeled shoe. She’d eventually come around to the opinion that ballet flats were really only for teenagers to wear with elegant clothes. That was totally the opposite to how she’d been before she’d met Samantha.

"Hey Bob, I mean Bobbi, I've meant to ask, you were a fitness nut before you became a girl, do you still work out?"

"Oh yes, I want to keep my figure. But I learned the value of a sports bra after I tried jumping jacks."

Lucky girl
There's more than one way to be lucky. Maybe, there's more than one way to be a girl?

The Caution is for a slightly oblique reference to self harm. For American readers a Stanley knife is what you might call a 'box cutter'.
