Crazy Core Gym, Upper East Side, New York:
Teela and Emily arrive at the address they were given. They looked at the building in front of them and couldn’t believe that it used to be some sort of warehouse.
“Are you sure you have the right address, Teela?” Emily looks at her friend.
“I’m sure. This is the address Jester gave me. She also gave me the entrance code as well.” Teela walked into the small foyer and noticed there was a metal keypad with black numbers and letters.
In this chapter, Emily navigates a day filled with grief and reflection as she bids farewell to her mother. Amidst the weight of the occasion, small moments of kindness and support from those around her offer glimpses of comfort and strength, helping her take the first steps toward healing.
Author’s note: You can blame my friend Olivia Hope Matteo for this bit of silliness.
It started as a typical day.
I got my chores done, which gave me time to let my inner girl out. I was what my transgender friends would call an "egg" -occasional crossdressing in private, but I haven't seen a gender therapist yet - but on my days off I let my inner Olivia out for a while.
I honestly don't do a whole lot once dressed, just imagine what my life would be like if I went full time.
On the ride back to my condo Pete pointed out some points of interest along the way. I could tell he loved his town. He walked me to my door and told him how much I enjoyed the evening.
He was just about to leave when I leaned over and kissed him on the lips. His seemingly permanent 3-day old stubble, although it looked like he had shaved, tickled my lips, a new experience for me. My kiss surprised, and pleased, him.
The band members looked at me in amazement and one reporter said “Drake I have heard of, he beat the Spanish Armada, but who is this Reece.” I told them that Richard Reece was a mate aboard one of Drakes ships when Drake was a privateer.
Chapter 14
"Dammit Penny!" cried Myrna, slamming down the phone. "I feel like I should go out and stand on the street corner with a sign saying 'Anything helps - God Bless.' I'm sick of begging for money. How did we ever let the system get this corrupt?"
Desirée Anatole Debois was seeking a husband, and as a result of that a really quite remarkable chain of events occurred. Desirée was the sole owner of Human Resources PLC, a massive corporation that designed and manufactured androids initially with a wide range of levels of sophistication. She was also the intellect that had created the company, known as HRPLC, and its products from nothing. A genius who was also pretty, though socially inept, she had never engaged in relationships other than professional ones with human beings. Her only meaningful social interactions were with the ever increasingly sophisticated androids she created.
The accuracy of a forecast was only good if the right factors were taken into consideration. A good forecast could be wrong when an unlikely factor was not taken into account when making the prediction. This was how the reliable forecast of good time with many laughs was wrong for Renee and Matt’s visit to the Lincoln Way Bike Park. The reason for the change to miserable filled with regret was the sight of Lori walking towards them.
Sarah had her own designs to work on. First step was leaning against the couch. I couldn’t see what she was doing, but I could feel the thump of her hip as she leaned and started talking to someone. “I need that thing you made.” “Because I’m short, and you’re sexy.” “I can’t.” Then I see her pants go sailing by, followed closely by a dark purple thong. Are thongs still sexy? “Because I’m naked. Now.” “Listen, Bree, if you help me have my first comfortable standing sex, I will pay you back.” “It’ll be a surprise. You know you can trust me.”
I should explain right at the beginning why Daddy did the things that he did to me. You see, Daddy is not my real father. That is the whole problem, and the reason why things fell apart. He told me that he did not want to believe that I was not his, so he ignored the fact that I did not look anything like my two older brothers. He loved me, and now he loves me more.
CHAPTER 30
I went out of the back door and around the end of the terrace, which allowed me a look down the street at whoever was knocking, rather than taking the risk of opening the front door. It was a middle-aged man, suit and tie under a long raincoat, topped off by a golfing umbrella.
“Can I help you?”
He turned to stare, then smiled.
“I recognise that voice. We spoke on the telephone. Rhys Thomas?”
Chapter 11
"Myra, that was an amazing performance!" Penny said in wonder. "Talk about take no prisoners! Who else could talk about the ancient Indus Valley civilizations and make it sing?"
The
Visund has left Joth to resume its journey upstream. After an easy
leg and an awkward approach, the ship reaches Forguland, where the
crew are hailed as heroes. A chance remark means that Maralin has
some explaining to do, and a signature means Eriana must also explain
herself.
Mother Daughter Bonding
A Short Story
By Maryanne Peters
"I don't know about this," I said. “It’s like Stan and Kevin might have the wrong idea about us. Just because we like dressing up as women now and again does not mean we are gay, or anything like that. I'm straight, just like you Dad.”
"Sure," my dad replied, but did I sense a little uncertainty? "It’s just a fantasy thing. We have to explain that to them. It’s a release mechanism. I used to do it before I was married, and well, since your mother died, I just slipped back into old habits.”
The gymnasium was filled to the brim with costumed revelers. Kendalgroves Jr. High School annual Halloween celebration was in full swing with all the students dancing their cares away as the DJ was playing the latest pop hits. The room gym had been decorated in full Halloween style, with spooky glow in the dark skeletons hanging from invisible strings and plastic bats too. And in the center there could be a strange attraction.
Chapter 8
With the first public appearances behind them, it was time to hit the road. No one runs for office without a large number of volunteers willing to go out and do the legwork, answer the phones, make the endless calls, pay the bills, program the computers and generally support the candidate.
Author’s note: this one of those stories that seriously mutated as I was writing it. It went from a bleak horror story to something else entirely. I look forward to hearing what you guys think ....
“So, tell me about this dream.”
“Well, it starts with me getting into a cab, and this attractive woman asks to share the ride. I say yes, and we go, but then she blows some kind of smoke in my face and everything spins. Then I find myself lying in a bed, I’m naked, and I can't move.”
My Super-powered Diary Chapter 41
Feeling and Feelings?
By Amethyst
When Maddock Ainsley gets involved in a rescue operation with his unit things go horribly wrong and his life is forever changed. Can the newly minted Merida cope with being a girl and a teenage super hero?
“Come on Brooke, tell everyone what happened so we can get going.”
Ok, this one is a bit... well, weird and nasty, to be honest. If you are of a delicate disposition, please move along. I've been ill with covid, but I'm a bit better now. Thanks again to Gabi for editing and proofreading, but don't blame her for everything else. It's a bit rushed for Halloween because of the illness. I'll try and tidy it as I go along. There are more chapters, but it's not finished yet. What can I say, deadlines and illness don't mix...
The three friends sat around Jim’s living room. The three amigos’, as they called themselves, were as unlikely a group of friends that can be imagined.
Cary gets past his initial embarrassment to make some new friends during a fun educational program at his mom’s place of employment during bring-your-child-to-work day.
From the time Taylor was five, all he could remember was wanting to be Emma’s younger sister.
He loved dressing up in her hand-me-downs. He admired his older sister and really wanted to be her. Halloween was his favorite holiday because he could let his fantasies run wild and be Cinderella or Wonder Woman. And playing make-believe was always fun when he could be the cute little girl.
But, something happened when he turned twelve. He put away the dresses and costumes. The doll house went up in the attic and Taylor’s fantasies were all in his mind.
Until one fateful Saturday that changed everything. This is that story.
