someone he'd hoped never to see again.
The Accidental Soprano
A Short Story
By Maryanne Peters
They said that I was fortunate that the injury did not cause lasting damage, but that was before it changed my life. I am not bitter towards the surgeons that repaired my neck. I have used surgeons since, and I am grateful to them. Surgeons have to do what they do to let us live, or to normal lives.
She always enjoyed checking him out, seeing what new items he might have. Pickles, mayo, lipstick. Ham, a couple of movies, and a cute bra and panty set.
"For my girlfriend," he would say if she asked, but in a town as small as theirs she knew better.
"That'll be fifty four seventy three." He paid her swiftly, and hurried to grab his bags.
"This is like your mystery man," Grooty told her, and Mirina's cheeks reddened. "You find a coat and boots, and woo! a scary bad man is on the island! He's coming to get you!"
Gaby’s Trial.
By Angharad.
(A story based on the characters created by Maddy Bell).
This story was written for the 2008 Gabycon.
The doorbell rang and Maddy went to answer it.
“Hi, Maddy, is Gaby around?”
“Somewhere, I think she’s watching a DVD of Lance Armstrong or something. Hang on, I’ll call her. GABS, HARRY’S HERE!”
A moment later the diminutive figure of Gaby Bond aka Drew, came skipping through the house. “Hi, Harry,” she as Gaby, embraced the pleasant young man who stood waiting for her.
The trouble was that Kacey was innocent — and the girls refused to believe him! Even Carly didn’t believe him — and she was his sister! Carly and Kacey’s mutual friends, Sarah and Maren, were furious. Never mind that Ned and Tom, their other so-called friends, were the true culprits. The girls believed that Kacey was to blame!
Ned and Tom always had been mischievous, especially Ned. They enjoyed playing obnoxious but harmless jokes on people. Normally, they did such things as putting food dye or salt in someone’s drink or loosening the top of a salt shaker so all the salt would dump onto the plate of the poor sap who picked it up. This time, however they had gone too far — and Kacey was on the hook for it!
As Tom drove us back to my house, I realised that the policewoman had tricked Stella into coming out pretending I’d been taken ill and needed to go home. I kept up the act of not being well until we got home.
A chance meeting... then, again, in different circumstances, a glimpse across a
room brings questions, possibility and longing.
Feelings you were previously unaware of. Although...
This is the sequel to "Lost and Found." I recommend you read that story first. For those who have, "Found and Lost" explores Jack's relationship with Penny. Can they find happiness together?
My sister and I had been living in each other's bodies for about 19 hours. Our grandmother had done this to us, hoping we might learn to empathize with each other and put an end to our lifelong feuding. The body swap had been a strange experience, and downright horrible at times, but in my case at least it seemed as if the old witch's lesson was starting to work. I began to see why my sister was the way he was, and to regret our not being closer. Until for no apparent reason he tried to sabotage the best thing in my life...
PLAY . . NICE!

Chapter Six: A new day, a new life
The next morning, I woke up refreshed. There was a tangle of blond and black hair in my face. I was spooned up to the cutest little kitty girl, and my arm was around her. I lightly stroked her soft skin, and she started purring. Life is good.

Chapter 17 of a Continuing Saga…
Hearing footsteps coming down the stairs we looked up and saw Bryony coming down; she was wearing a swirley, knee-length, light green tiered skirt and a yellow strappy top, which seemed to accentuate her boobs, with white ankle socks and sandals.
‘Wow, Bryony,’ Lacey gasped, ‘Looking at you now, I can’t believe you were ever a boy, you’re so pretty, and I love your outfit. I’ve got a skirt just like that ’cept mine’s mauve.’
‘I was only a boy on the outside, I’ve always been a girl on the inside.’ Bryony replied, as she reached the bottom of the stairs and did a twirl for us, making her skirt flare out prettily.

Chapter Four: MORFS gets really personal
The next thing I knew, I was waking up in the hospital. Doctor Mary Jacobson was examining me.
"So, Howard... got tired of studying MORFS from the outside, eh?"
Driving to work this morning, the traffic sucked, as it usually does in the Metroplex. I made up some time once I got past the inevitable fender-bender that had slowed everybody down; and arrived at work only a few minutes late. Joe, my supervisor, was waiting for me when I walked in.
Have you ever been acused of something, anything that you didn't do. Were you punished and how did you react to the punishment? Is it realy as simple as...'He said, she said'
"No I'm not, Susie, it's just over your head. In plain English: this will never happen again."
"Never is a long day, Jeffrey."
"Ah, but consider this, Susie: I've suffered a harrowing experience and as a result, I've ended up cross-dressing. That," I concluded triumphantly, "is what you psychologists call aversion therapy."

Another great sports story from Angela Rasch on Kindle from DopplerPress!
Orphaned, Angel has to move to live with his uncle. Even though a standout athlete in Illinois, he's having trouble finding a place to fit in Pecos.
