My cat died

Several months ago I was posting stories about my cat Madeline. She was the one who got paralyzed at the back legs. She made a recovery, almost back to new (except that she wouldn't jump great distances any more and no longer went on the roof).

A month ago we found out she had scabies. No big deal. A little medicine and a bath in sulfer shampoo cleared that right up.

2 for 1 Blog, But they are short reminders for mental health

First off the good news, got a new cat, a grey and dark brown calico kitten that is growing fast.
So, I should be more good natured for awhile, at least until her teething becomes an issues.

The girl, Cally hid in the basement over night.

She is so frail and does not appear to be eating much.

Murder on the Highway

I witnessed a murder today. It wasn't an accident, let there be no doubt about it. Before you get too worried; no, it wasn't a person, it was a young kitten. I was on Arkansas Highway 10 about four miles south of Perryville, Arkansas. This is a pretty good downhill stretch with a passing for the uphill traffic. I spotted a small animal moving slowly in the middle lane, and as I passed it, I realized it was a kitten, perhaps about 10 weeks old. It had long hair, a dark tail and head, and creamy long hair on its body.

This one caught my eye this morning.

Cat being a cat

Of course, we're all used to the phenomenon of cats walking across keyboards and generating *perfect* passwords, this just takes it to the logical next step!

A few days ago, Sue Brown blogged about having had to put her cat, Biscuit to sleep. I commented about having a week earlier having to put my cat, Bleu to sleep, and many other commented as well.

I know it has been hard for me to face my loss, too.

Hoping to post Chapter 8 of Reckoning

by Saturday, Sunday at the latest. I've had a computer failure of my MacBook which required taking it to the repair place for surgery. Apparently we experienced a power surge which attacked the inverter, which is in the hinge where it opens, and also burned out the LCD, which lights the screen.

Approximately 200 dollars or so later, I might have it back by Friday. I've been using my old desktop, which I fortunately never got around to taking down and storing away. ALL the relevant info I need to post the story is, of course, on the Mac.

As of 11:10 this evening, our little terrier mix has given birth to two seemingly healthy puppies. I wasn't present at the event, but my housemate, who is the owner of the dog, said everything went smoothly. Don't get me wrong, but I find it relatively easy to not be overly excited about this.

Okay. I guess that's enough for now. Flame me if you like. I am not mean to dogs at all. I just like cats better. Such is life.

Gay penguins to undergo reparative therapy (good thing they weren't at the Tehran Zoo!):
http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/gay-penguins-separated-...

Buddy and Pedro, a married pair of male African penguins at the Toronto zoo are being seperated
and paired with female penguins. Apparently this wasn't done for religious or moralistic reasons but
because the population of this species is in perilous decline. Let's hope they can rise to the occasion.
