Perhaps not my final choice of title, indeed for obvious reasons “Life on Venus” sprang to mind. “Gene Hunt” is of course not my creation although perhaps “Jean Hunt” may appear?
Be gentle, this story is the first I have written in a very long time.
I will try to add additional chapters as I get around to writing them but have no idea where I want the tale to go yet. My muse and the storyline are still arguing over the teacups!

Could anyone tell me how to get in contact with this author? I live in Ireland and have sent her several e-mails, with no replies. I suspect that it may have something to do with my server, maybe not. I'm not that good with server settings and such lore.
I am a fiction writer and copy editor and I have laid out a progressive conclusion to 'I can't go home like this'.

What I later found out had happened that New Year would be something one would think suicidal on the world, at least I and others who know about it would. The Chinese government thought setting off a nuke right on the New Madrid fault line would do the job nicely in the United States, shattering any metropolis in the ensuing earthquake and the riots that then followed.

This is both a big thanks to every writer who by there generous efforts posted to BC. I have been reading here for some years now and due to the gravitational pull of all the combined creativity I was drawn out to post a story inspired by a very generous cameo Bailey Summers wrote in Absence Opium and Honor. The character Michelle a nurse at the hospital Jamie was taken too after being pushed down the stairs. The interlude between Jamie and Michelle sparked a major shift in Michelle's attitude towards her life and how she was living it.

My name is John phoenix im 23 and right out of college and had few friends. Then I got a job working at an archaeological dig site in ancient sparta. I was there several months, working in a area deep with in the castle surveying the last spot in my area.

I found a hidden switch behind an old statue that looked like ares god of war. So out of wonder I reached in to the statue and hit the switch that's when I heard a hiss like an ancient sealed room was opening.

What is good writing?

What is good writing (or good reading). I am a voracious reader, that doesn't mean that I will read anything. Even with the same author depends on the genre, sometime a slight genre change is enough to make me drop some books (for example I like later works of Peter James but don't like the early stuff). How many of us really like those acclaimed writers like Nobel prize winners? I like a few and give majority a wide berth!

It had taken a lot of bribes, just to get hold of him. And then the surgery had cost a lot more, but for the parents, it was worth it to have their Amber back again. They knew that he would not want to replace her, which was why they had implanted a little electro-shock device into him for training purposes. As well as that, a bangle that *she* could not take off contained a GPS device so they would know where their little princess was at all times. They waited for *her* to wake so they could attach the hair extensions and tell *her* her fate.

Slogging through a scene that isn't working well...

I'm stuck.

I've gotten my protagonist (and supporting cast) up to "the big city". The entire cast is visiting the home of a local dignitary.

My protagonist, 4 members of the supporting cast (all of whom have different agendas and levels of comfort with the current situation) are currently sitting having a rather … candid discussion about the protagonist's situation with the hostess.
