Counting Seismologists or Earthquake Terminology 101

We just had an earthquake here, or near here. A few people called so I just want to post that I'm okay. :)

Actually, I was in a restaurant drinking coffee and talking to a friend in Florida when it hit. I told her all about it, she asked how bad was it and I went into a spiel I made up on the spot.

I said something like this:

Working Girl ~ Life Goes On! 8

I took in the rotund stomach, let’s not be gentle here — pot bellied, then the lobster pink of the skin that had not seen enough factor 30. The sparse hair, the drool on the lips that held the thorny rose, clenched between off white and brown teeth...

Sisters

Things have been going okay lately. I finally got a chance to talk with my sister without anyone around. we had a very nice chat. Before we talked, she emailed me. In the emial she called me Jessica. When I saw that, I was so happy that I started crying. We talked for almost an hour. This all started when I thought she had seen this site on my computer. Well, guess what? She did not see a thing.

A Real Food Review

The subject of food reviews has been aired recently and one caught my attention today, which was half travel and half food in content. I thought it was so well-written and entertaining and, to me, everything that a good review should be that it was worth sharing. It's from the International Herald Tribune, a paper that I regard as the best English language newspaper in the world today.

Easy As Feeling Very Sick.

I’d just come back to my office to get my coat and bag, when the door was roughly pushed open and I was shoved into my desk.

“Just what do you think you are doing?” I was angry and frightened at the same time, he, the security guard was so much bigger than me.

Totally Flabbergasted!

I like to keep an eye on my stories to see which ones are more popular. At present, that seems to be Totally Insane which at the time of counting, a few minutes ago, had a combined hit score of 17,500 for ten episodes. Looks like I'll have to keep it going a bit longer (or the death threats from a soon to be teenager, will start again!).

Good Medical News For Me!

Been suffering with a peculiar pain in my abdomen this past week, which I seem to get periodically and no one has been able to diagnose. One doctor thought it might be a hernia. Another thought it might be diverticulitis, or a kidney stone. I, being something of a pessimist and phobic hypochondriac was thinking "cancer! gangrene! invulnerable flesh-eating parasites! that thing from Alien! you're going to die!" (I really, really need to work on my optimism and positive mental imaging, don't I?)

Calling Toni Trepasso

As the title says, Calling Toni Trepasso!!

The reason why is that several months ago, she started posting Becoming Antonia and Mean Girls 3026 and to date, neither story has been finished and I am left feeling the need for the finish of the stories. I know I may have said a couple of things in comments that were sort of out of line, it didn't mean that I didn't like the stories.

After my shower, I felt a little better tempered. It still rankled me that spurious accusations are taken so seriously, just my luck to call the cops 'cos someone is trying to kill me, and I get an ansafone because they're all out chasing wild geese! .

Author's Note: I am using The Nightwalker world with ScramblerJ's kind permission. All characters appearing in Hunter's tale, the first story in this world, and the world set-up are ScramblerJ's property. Any characters appearing in this story (with the above-mentioned ones excepted) are mine. If you find a few things different, consider it my fault and my fault only. I hope you enjoy this one. Also, it has been a number of years since I wrote this one, so please forgive some of the grammar and other little glitches. I was learning then as I’m learning now, and only hope to improve my craft as I go.

A bit of blarg about nothing....

I've slowly been switching from Wimpdoze to Linux (specifically, Ubuntu 8.04, Hardy Heron). The longer I use it, the more I realize I did *exactly* the right thing. This began slightly before I finally put feet to the realization (which I'd known for years, but was scared to leave my comfort zone) that I am a member of the working poor and applied to a near by university to finish (after a 21 year hiatus) my bachelor's degree. I'm returning to get a degree in Computer Engineering. I intend to use this route to get a *real* job.

Your Favourite Wanker?

A tip of the hat to Ceri for the blog about writer/editor relationships. That and some of the comments made me start to think about those self-important "head firmly embedded in their anus" individuals who inflict their presence on us through the media and make us go apoplectic at the sight or sound of them or the words they write.

“What? That little toe-rag is making a complaint.” I was shocked.

“Looks that way, the Dean rang me just before I left.”

“What’s he complaining about, that I tried to run him over?”

“I think so.”

Boggled

Uhhh. Wow.

First off, to all of you who have been following Maiden by Decree, thank you. I'm so happy that you're enjoying the story as it unfolds.

And to think I first passed what I had written around my friends in the Whateley Group of authors and asked if the story was worth going on with...

After we got back to the university, I went off to push more paper around my desk and Tom went off to be counted. Why they would want to audit Tom, I didn't know, I could have saved them time. There is only one Tom Agnew, they broke the mould after him.

"Didn't you see his hair?" responded Elfed as the tinkle of the two boys relieving themselves echoed around the room.

"Yes, I saw it is pretty long, so what?" asked Alex.

"Yes, but it looks a bit girlie, like he's taking care of it, you know washing it and stuff,"

Bra Guide -- Fit and Style Reference

Just found this great bra reference page [click here] in the online Macy's catalog. One link has information on measuring size, which might be of great interest to crossdressers and stories about them, especially as it has the "formulas" for dealing with larger band sizes.

"INVITATION" Is A Big No-No

I have just received an advisory that a new and dangerous virus is being spread under the heading "Invitation", and can be spread by infiltration into the email addresses of any contact. If you receive any communication with this heading the advice is to shut down your unit immediately even if the email is ostensibly from a friend.

English Teas

When I think of British Teas Earl Grey or English Breakfast are the ones I think of.Today I was shopping at a local closeout store and spotted P&G tea.On the box they claim they are the most popular Tea in England. So I was wondering if that claim was true.I won't say it was the best tea I ever drank but it was a far cry from the worst.Amy

I clopped out to Tom's LandRover and sat demurely inside it. "I still don't know how you walk in those things," he said as he started the engine.

"Practice, practice, practice," I said like a demented music teacher. He chuckled and drove out of the car park. "Where are we going to eat?" I asked although I knew the answer.

Votes

Hi! I'm very new here. And I've been wondering about votes. I can't seem to find any info about them. How do you vote, and what does the votes mean, are there some kind of scale?

Thank you
