Is Late Better than Never? Chapter 4

Is Late Better than Never?
by Lily Rasputin

Chapter Four

“Honestly, Madeline. Could you possibly think about someone other than yourself for once?

The woman at the end of the connection, the one listed in the phone’s contacts as “Mother”, possessed an annoyingly superior tone of voice which made me instantly sympathetic for the former Maddie’s having to have dealt with it for her entire life.

A sympathy, I supposed, that I should now feel for myself.

CHAPTER 59
We made a sizeable group in Rod’s workshop, but Rhona had brought some spare folding chairs, so at least we didn’t have to stand. This was Chad’s baby, we had decided as a group, so he was the one on the mobile phone, passing directions to our visitors from the East Coast. Eventually, he walked out to the road.

“Yeah, I’m on the road, and I’m waving… Got you! Kettle will be going on, boys”

Pretend Princess - Chapter 12

I had woken up and found myself in a compromising position. The universe had given me a headstart, an opportunity to save myself from the compromised state I found myself in.

I had been sprawled all over him, my left arm draped the whole way across his torso and my head resting on his chest. I'd had the opportunity to withdraw and fling myself back to my side of the bed but what did I do with that chance? I stayed because God it felt nice.

Chapter 36: Enchanting

Kaelyn was just trying to fill her belly, but she got a lot more than she bargained for when she decided to save the life of a Faerie.

“Changeling,” she said, her voice barely more than a whisper as she stared at Mara with wide eyes.

College Interns

I wrote this a long time ago. It is a fairy tale dressed in reality.

  1. College Interns

Three hours into the flight, Kelly turned to Jody and asked, “Have you ever been to California before?”

“No, I haven’t,” Jody replied looking out the window. “I’ve always wanted to go but I’ve never had the chance. Outside of taking the train up and down the East coast, I’ve never really been anywhere west of Pittsburgh.”

"You were zoning off again, Cho."

"Sorry, um, contemplating achieving enlightenment," I made up on the spot.

"Really?" Sam sounded a little too eager.

"No, not really. Not unless it involved a shampoo and a style at Sharon's in the mall."

Hee bounced once on the balls of her feet. "Oh, I could see that. They give really good shampoo." I nodded in agreement.

I thought you might like it.

It's about a young guy finding himself in trouble.
And the solutions that comes, and where they might take him.

If you do like it tell me :)
If you don't
Ah?

Well, tell me.

(Yeah, I tried to 'clean it up' a little, hopefully making it more readable.)

It Wasn't in the Cards

“Look, children, let us focus on what ta do now. Until I sleep, dis change can be undone, but only by you, Charlie. I give ta you de power over de fate o' your friends.”

From within her bosom, Mama Lavise pulled out a locket and opened it before Charlie. In it were two tiny worry dolls, one brown and in trousers and a t-shirt, the other pink and in a dress.

“Switch de dolls' clothin' ta make things as dey were. You have 'til I get home an' lay me head down. Good day, children.”
