Dwayne and Phil were clearly surprised when Tony and Jimmy entered the room.

"Hey guys," Tony greeted them. "Man, I thought you two took some awesome hits on the football field, but I think you went a little bit overboard on this one. You make me hurt just looking at you."

The bit of humor made both boys smile. They missed Tony and Jimmy's sense of humor.

"Yeah, we did," Phil sheepishly smiled. "But did you see the tree I hit? It took a beating!"

"It may have taken a beating," Jimmy snickered. "But I heard it had you out in LIMB-o for a while."

Mom and Sis are settling into the house less than five hours later having gotten out of their house before Dad and my brother returned. Now some of my old phobias are beginning to threaten me. It’s a little difficult to remember they haven’t a clue, at least I don’t believe so.

I stared at the mirror trying to tie my bun into place.

I never knew it could be so hard. All those years in a ballet studio and the experience of getting my hair perfectly right alluded me.

"Are you about done?" A young voice yelled, breaking my concentration. "Madame Anne wants us in the studio. And the boys are waiting."

"Just a sec, Caroline," I said as I grabbed my Gaynor Mindens.
I couldn't help but fight the butterflies. The memories were all rushing back.

It was a battle just coming back to this place, even though it was always my refuge during my struggle within.

Chapter 9 A Strange Sunday

Coming through the door was James girlfriend. I felt a cold chill down my spine and my stomach was churning. She was with two friends and they looked a little drunk even though it was still fairly early in the day. I couldn’t believe that he would like this person. I knew it was her as soon as Sallys face. She looked at me and her eyes were wide open.

Home is where the heart is...

The next couple of days go well. We’ve been pretty busy once again and I’ve had several photo sessions of my own as well as more language lessons. I’ve made arrangements with Tanner to invest nearly half of what I earn after taxes to begin to save toward my operations. For some reason, the idea of becoming fully myself... I mean, fully female is really beginning to take hold. Isn’t that funny? I’ve spent years trying to be male and now in just a couple of months I’ve embraced being a female and can’t wait to be more complete. Maybe Dad was right and there is something wrong with me... I mean other than being a woman who has been trying to be a boy.

Chapter 4

I was exhausted after three hours with Sensei Ozawa. I spent more time on my back than I had in 5 years of training. I was thrown every which way that a person could be thrown. I even played the “I’m just a girl” card, with no luck whatsoever.

As I rubbed by backside from the thirtieth throw, sensei told me, in his intimidating Japanese accent. “Center of gravity off! Energy is not flowing. Feel energy flowing through you, not around!” He growled in frustration. “YOU should be defeating ME, girl! Again!”
