“Are you certain this is the right path?”

Two figures crept down a narrow underground passageway, shoes slipping across shallow puddles lining the curved concrete floor. Their coats, one jet black and the other a lighter brown, flickered in the weak light offered only by a white crystal held forward by the taller and much darker-skinned man.

“They didn’t provide a map, Callas. I told you the same instructions they told me, and your memory is as perfect as mine. If you think we’ve misapplied the sequence, you should’ve spoken up.”

“Hmm.”

These days, Halloween has been taken over by the horror industry but when I was young you went out ‘guising’ which meant being in disguise. One year I was a footballer in my favourite team’s strip. I felt like riffing on a couple of ideas without making a big series out of them. Two love doll stories and two prehensile limbed alien stories. Sweet doll, stuck doll, exploited alien, opportunistic alien.

Adult for when you work out what the words 'venerate' and 'gratify' mean. Oh, and sex dolls. But really those two words are a hell of a lot dirtier in context.

“Walk me to the car?” William asked his daughter and she held his hand as they walked to the back parking lot. He put his bag into the back seat and turned to face her. “Now you be a good girl and I'll see you in two weeks.”

“So much for five months, huh?” Tracy said with a smile.

“I like this plan better.” William stated. He turned and pulled his daughter into a hug. “This way I don't miss out on five months of my baby's life.”

Tracy blushed at being called a baby. “Daddy, I'm not a baby.” She whined, but she couldn't be angry.

"Guh." I managed to croak out when my alarm went off.

Why do we have to get such an early train? I dragged myself out of my nest and into the shower - a sure way to wake myself up. Twenty minutes later I was stood in front of the mirror examining myself - for a boy I make a damned good girl, but that's no longer really the case is it? Whilst there's barely an ounce of fat on me, what there is forms some er very female curves. That's just it, apart from Herbert and his pals I look like a girl already ; tuck them out of the way, we are talking chipolata rather than Cumberland here, and voila, one erm foxy girl - well she would be if she wasn't me. No , that's not right ; she's still foxy even if she is me.

There’s apart of me scared and I hate it and there’s a part of me mad and I can’t do anything about it and they thoughts and the leers and the icky squishy touch you in a bad way that I really, really don’t want is just.

And Kaylee’s scared and I’m feeling that and her feelings and her fears are deeper than mine but I’m still getting them anyway and I need…need in a capitol N way to keep myself covered.

She closed her eyes, failing to notice the woman standing just off the beach on the path. The woman was tall and handsome and appeared to be surrounded by a very large if over-sized mantel. And a second later, the wrap unfurled once again, as if she had been hugging herself. She walked over to Rianna and said something softly, heard above the gentle breeze but almost unspoken as well. Her hand touched Rianna’s face gently before she disappeared like so much fog on an ever-clearing morning….

And promptly stalled the car as it jerked forward. Sancha in the passenger seat snickered at her while the boys in the parking lot were openly laughing at her. This made her nervous. Melissa tried a few times to get used to the Supra but something seemed off to her and no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get a proper feel for the car. She would skid or spin out when she tried to drift or she stalled the car. Sancha in the passenger seat was openly laughing at her attempts to drive the car.
