Part 4

It was odd to be back in my old room. It had, of course, been undergoing a change over the months, the wardrobe now filled with my summer clothes, giving room for the winter things at the Hall. I had brought enough winter things to see me through the holiday. The four of us had Christmas Day at home, me giving my parents and sister their gifts. I had been to the shops on the way home from the Hall and had them gift wrapped in the shop. I wasn’t fully girl, just yet.

Significant times for Jo in personal and professional life, changes to come.

The three of us sat there, stunned. Derek had a big grin on his face and then he took up the explanation.

“We will want you to do the tour in period dress. We know that this is a bit of an imposition, but it would add to the accuracy of the delivery. You may have noticed a lot of pictures taken, late in the tour, today. I don’t think any of you saw what we saw.”

I had a few sleepless nights after my encounter with Rob. I woke up from a dream where I was in an old TV ad. The Shake and vac woman was dancing in her heels and skirt, hovering up Shake and vac. She had my face. I remember seeing the ad on Youtube. She looked like a typical 1980's housewife. I found her a turn-on. The thing is, I didn't want to have her, I think I wanted to be her.

We broke up and Sally led me through to our station. It wasn’t one of the biggest rooms, but it was packed with furnishings and paintings. She gave me a quick run-down on the furniture and ceramics before the public arrived.

I was in that strange time, between sleeping and waking. I had the feeling that I had been in a deep and dreamless sleep. A thought struck me.

"Oh, crikey, this is getting worse,”, I thought “I'm getting deeper and deeper into my life as Jo. If it goes on like this and I keep getting more and more in the public eye someone is bound to work out what I am doing.”

Of course it’d have to be on a “Take your daughter to work day” that we visit this factory. Of course, for me every day is “Take your daughter to work day.” I’m surrounded by small and big girls eager to ask me lots and lots of questions while my mother does what presidential candidates do. I hate having to participate in my mother’s campaigning but that’s Mother for you. Whatever can be useful not only can be used but MUST be used.

Jason was a 20 year old living in the heart of michigan. He’d been growing his long, thick blonde hair out for 3 years now, and it reached his mid back. He usually loved brushing his hair, as well as wearing it in a high ponytail, but he had an issue: It looked too plain.
