Thank You Shara ! As Jennifer walked a cross the parking lot of her work she rifles through her peruse for a cigarette and keys. Her cell rings and she all ready knows its her best friend Sara. Checking to make sure she coming to the party her and her husband are having. Jennifer sits in her car as she answer her cell saying hello sweetness Sara answer back with a well babes your still coming right. Jennifer takes a deep draw from her smoke and says i don't no Sara i really not ready to meet any one.

“Jamie?” The young man asks with confusion as he answers his front door. “What are you doing here this early?”

“To Viks!” The five of us toast, clinking our glasses of champagne (or in Charlotte’s case, non-alcoholic champagne) together.

“Seriously, you guys,” Viks complains, “my birthday isn’t until tomorrow!”

“Yeah, but we’ve got to share you with a BOY tomorrow,” Hannah giggles. “Tonight it’s all girls, girls, girls!”

“And on that topic,” Mary giggles, “Jamie, where the hell did you get those amazing nails?” I laugh as I wave my extra-long fingernails for the girls, highlighting the shiny black polish that’s been applied to each one.

I straighten my short black pencil skirt and my clingy, translucent tights as I jump in the back of the pink London cab. I slip my stiletto heels off and stretch my tired toes, satisfied that a hard day’s work is complete.

“Don’t let those toes get too comfortable,” Viks teases as she gets in the driver’s seat. “Aren’t they going to be supporting your entire bodyweight later tonight?”

“Ugh, don’t remind me,” I mock-groan. “I mean, it’s not that I DON’T like ballet, it’s just- haven’t I worked hard enough today?”

The year is 2150, the populace of Earth had to give up fossil fuels years ago due the ozone nearly being depleted. This is where my tails start. My name is Twitchy, yeah really weird name, but I’ll get to reason why shortly. In the late 2000’s when people started to notice it was getting hotter and hotter every month. The scientists discovered the problem with the ozone, their readings were well off and it was nearly gone. The world’s leaders all got together and immediately stopped the extraction of fossil fuels. This meant we had to implement the programmes that was already developed, but the fuel companies did not want them released, as they controlled enough corrupt officials to stop it actually coming to fruition.

Chapter 1

It should have been a great day. It was a beautiful June morning and the school year was ending in just a couple minutes. All of my classmates were excited; half of them were counting the exact number of seconds left until summer break officially began. I looked around the room knowing that it was probably the last time I’d be in this school. I was a middle school graduate now and would be a tenth grader in high school when school started up again in the fall. I should’ve have been as excited as everyone around me, but I wasn’t. I was not looking forward to summer vacation.

Originally, I wanted this to be as an homage for Mother's Day, but I couldn't complete it in time. Oh well, better late than never - Hope you enjoy!

It had been five years since I stood on this small grassy hill, five years since I had said my goodbye to one of the best women I had ever known. Sighing, I looked down at the flowers in my hand and quietly placed them in the little vase that stood like a sentinel before the polished stone.

The wedding is over. I’d met a wonderful guy, and even if I did like guys, which I don’t, my heart belongs only to Sara. But, I hurt him, which really upset me. Other than that, it was a fun time. Would I do it again? In a heartbeat. And, the guys never did figure out which bride’s maid was a boy. If there really was one. Well, it’s time to go back home and back to being Peter. Sigh.

Well, my nails are now long and very fancy. And, we’re at West Point. And, so far so good. Everyone is still seeing me as girl. The wedding is tomorrow. And, I wonder if Linda is as nervous as I am. And, about last night, . . .

 
Well, I’ve met the other bride’s maids, and it went well. I think that they were all shocked when they first met me, and full of questions. But, I was quickly accepted as one of the girls. And, one of them even said, “You should have been born a girl.” Why do some people feel that way? Oh well, I don’t.

The wedding is this Saturday, and I’m really getting nervous. If the wrong people find out about me, this wedding isn’t going to be good.

What a week. I guess I’m really getting into being Becka. I've dressed as a girl ever day. I've had a complete body waxing. I didn’t have that much body hair to start with, but feeling my hairless body when I take a shower is very interesting. Nylons and a corset are also an interesting combination. And, I really like it. Sara and I also had another long talk with my Aunt Dorothy that was very interesting. What will the rest of the week bring? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well I’ve done it now! I’ve agreed to be one of Vicki’s bride’s maids. And, to live the next two weeks as a girl. And, we, actually Sara’s mother, has spent a small fortune. Lets see what happens next . . .

Sara and I had been talking to ours mothers about where Becka had come from. And, her mother had asked her to tell the story . . .

My heart is racing and my palms are clammy. My mouth is bone dry from not having eaten in 24 hours and I'm shaking like a leaf.

"Okay Miss Burke," the doctor says as he injects a syringe into my IV drip. "I want you to count backwards from ten. Can you do that, please?"

"Ten," I whisper hoarsely. "Nine, e-eight, um, seven..." My head starts to spin as I find it harder and harder to keep my eyes open.

"Six, um, six?" I ask as my brain fogs over and my entire body feels like it's made out of lead.

"So, when did you first know that you were, well, 'Paige'?" Jessica asked her date, who simply smiled a shy smile in response.

"Since I was about ten," the Scottish girl responded. "I'd go to school and all I could think about were the girls in their uniforms, and about wearing them. Then I went to secondary school and literally EVERY girl there wore tiny pleated skirts and black tights that just seemed to make their legs shine. I've been obsessed with black nylons ever since."

"Mr. Tyler, your resume is very impressive," Robert Marotte, chief recruitment officer for Soixante-Trois airlines, said to the young American man sitting opposite him. "Two years working for Belman airways in America, fluent in English, French & German, conversational in Russian and Arabic, you could choose any airline you want. Why do you want to work for Soixante-Trois?"

“Come on, smile!” Katie urges me. Despite the cold, I beam a wide, toothy grin as Katie snaps photograph after photograph of me in my warm, snuggly outfit. I’m wearing a pair of tight, skinny jeans that show off my increasingly feminine curves, on top of which I have a pair of long, knee-high boots with a chunky 3” platform heel. My warm pink coat covers a tight red wool sweater, and my long brown hair is covered by a light grey woollen hat.

“Please tell me we’re done?” I beg as I try to warm my red-tipped fingers on my coat.

SIX WEEKS LATER

I blink my eyes awake and roll over in bed, only to be stopped by an unexpected face full of blonde hair that isn’t my own. Turning my head to the other side, another long mop of blonde hair- again, not my own- blocks my view. Once I’ve blinked the early morning tiredness- and a moderate hangover- out of my eyes, the previous night’s events return to my memory.

“Krys,” I whisper, gently nudging the sleeping woman on my left-hand side. “Han, wake up!” I whisper to the slumbering figure on my right.
