Mother’s Day, Father’s Day

Mother’s Day and Father`s Day are in different months in countries around the world; in the UK Mother’s Day is in March and Father’s Day is in June.

Thanks, once again, to my editor and friend Chris, who finds the time in a busy life to review my stories with comments and insights and edits. Busy editing for other authors at the same time, he is also an author in his own right.

The family are gathering together to see Dad between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

It seemed to list an audition site in Houston. Deciding this was too good to be true he decided to make the drive down. Maybe he would be able to see a free performance but if not he still wouldn't mind paying. Airfare plus the cost of tickets would be much more expensive in New York or LA, not to mention the cost of a hotel room or hostel.

He swore when first watching the video there were seven of them, but after watching it again there seemed to only be 5 or 6.

Chapter 15 - The Visit

They dropped Emily off at her place before heading out of town. Leslie and Emily had spent a few minutes talking quietly before Emily turned away with a smile. Leslie watched her walk inside before getting into the car with a smile of her own.

“I take it that you have plans for this evening?” Mary Sue asked, looking at Leslie with a grin.

Sitting opposite him in a slightly lower chair, it seemed slightly intimidating and I assumed that was the purpose of our relative positions.

Karen let me in her house, and Sid was out watching football at the pub. We sat and chatted for a while, just drinking tea. About six o’clock, Sid came home and we ordered a take-away, while me and Karen went to see what to wear that night. In the end, I borrowed the red bandage dress she wore when we last went clubbing, leaving my new dress hanging in the wardrobe of her spare room. We left at about eight, with me sitting in the front of the cab and the driver looking at my legs.

Charlotte and Anna have now arrived in Lisbon where Anna's education really kicks in as hot headed Charlotte is determined to make a success of Anna's transformation from servant to companion a success. But disaster strikes and Charlotte's impetuous nature lead her into danger and adventure.

Chapter 12 - The Plot Thickens

She squinted at the bright light in her eyes. It was like the sun was shining directly into her face. Her head felt like it had been packed with cotton and she was having trouble making sense of anything. Realization grew on her that she had been looking at the same spot on the curtain wall beside the bed for minutes before she even knew that it was there.

Charlotte and Anna board the ship that is taking her brother to Portugal. Anna catches the eye of a young midshipman and romance blossoms at the same time Charlotte starts to teach Anna her letters and numbers as to be a Ladies Companion Anna needs some education.

Vincent was working late on night, filling paperwork out. His coworker came in his office and sat down. Renee was attractive and flirtatious and she knew she was good looking, which in Vincent's opinion was why she was such trouble. He consciously didn't want to give her too much attention and kept his head down while she was there, trying not to be rude though.

This is the year that Charlotte departs England for a short while with her brother who is working for the government she is to all intents a young lady of quality. They are accompanied my Charlottes Ladies maid Anna and bound for Portugal.
Charlotte decides that Anna is more suited to be a companion rather than a ladies maid but before this could happen poor Anna undergoes a fate worse than death – she has a full body bath!

Chris dies in a horrible car accident and goes to Heaven. He soon discovers that the friend he protected, Arnie, in high school has committed suicide due to constant bullying and abuse. Now, he must go through Hell to find Arnie and bring him to Heaven. However, things are not as they appear.
