Chapter 1 - The men in the silver Mercedes.

As Greg Olsen was watching the silver Mercedes, the five men got out of the car, and walked toward the picnic area. As they got nearer to the picnic, Steve Hastings approcahed the men.

“Excuse me, gentlemen, I’m officer Steve Hastings of the Pine Forest police department. May I ask what your business here is?”

“Hey, dude, we came for the party. It looks like things are really swingin’ here.”

Part 1 - Hob nobbing at the social.

That night I dreamed about what it would be like at the social. I was going to live every girl's dream and attend a social on snob hill. I was introduced by the butler, and I was immediately surrounded by a pack of boys. They all wanted to know who I was, why haven't they ever seen me before. I was like, petrified, until this boy came and rescued me. We danced all day, and all I could see was approving smiles from Kathy.

by Barbara Lynn Terry

(Author's note: I call this story The Camp Of The Willows, because I was fortunate enough to have gone there. This is not the real name of the camp. The camp is no longer there and it has been reforested. But while it was there, I had a lot of fun and learned quite a lot about who I am. ~Barbara~)

When I walked in the door, Sharon was sitting on the sofa talking on the phone. I heard her say, "all right, Miss Loretta". She saw me and hung up the phone.

"I thought you were going to come to the 'Tower' and join us."

When they got "home" and for the holidays, home was Paul's house, they took Jean's new clothes to her room. Shelley helped carry the bags in, and was admiring her new clothes as Jean put them away.

"Jean, you are so lucky to be able to wear anything. I'd give my eye teeth to be able to be this small."

The next morning, the sun was shining, but the temperature was like twenty degrees above zero. It was cold, so it called for warm clothes. I got out of bed, and looked through my dresser, and took out my jeans that had flowers on the back pockets, and my lingerie. I also took out a pair of knee high double knit socks. I went to my closet and got out my powder pink Angora sweater, and my insulated show boots.

"You know something, princess, you get prettier every time I see you."

I put my head on his shoulder and looked up at him. "And you dear prince get handsomer every time I see you. I love you, Paul."

"I love you too, sweet princess. Before we get home, I have to tell you that your room will be right next to mine, and there is a bathroom between us. So when you need to use our bathroom, knock on the door first. Then lock my side so I just don't wander in. Don't forget to unlock it when you're finished.

Chapter 1 - In Glenn's Eatery.

Nate Wilkins and Naomi sat in a booth in Glenn's Eatery located in Jim's Hardware Emporium. When the waitress came over, Naomi ordered a cup of coffee for her and for Nate Wilkins.

"Nate, that didn't go over too well. Mr. Withers was holding something back and I am going to find out just what it is. I don't want you going off on the edge of that precipice called anger. You leave this up to me. This is what I get paid for. Is that a deal?"

Chapter XV - Jean's Homecoming Welcome

When we got to the student parking lot, Paul helped me get out of the car, and held my arm in case I stumbled. We walked to the Gamma Delta house, and as we went in, everybody yelled Surprise. There was a banner over the staircase that said Welcome Home Jean in great big letters.

Chapter XIV - Jean's Hospital Experience

When I woke up, mother was sitting by the bed. She looked at me with those concerned mother eyes, and then she wiped a hair away from my forehead.

"Honey, the nurses are telling me that you're not eating everything on your tray. Sweetie you have to eat, so you can get your strength back. You aren't going to gain any weight, because you won't be snacking between meals, and I will make sure of that. But you have to eat."

Chapter XIII - Jean's operation

That night I slept fitfully, constantly tossing and turning every which way. Lily had to wake me up a couple of times because she said I was having a nightmare. What it was about I haven't a clue, but they say that you can never sleep the night before an operation. I don't know if that was what it was, or not, but it was definitely something for Lily to wake me up over. I looked at the clock and it said five thirty. I figured I might as well get up, and take my bath. Bobbie is going to meet us at registration, and then go up to the room with me.

Chapter XII - Emily Settles In

Emily said she would need some help to move her things over from her apartment, but she also said she didn't have that much. Kendra, Debbie, Lydia, Connie, and I went with her to help her move in. I found out on the way to Emily's old apartment, that trying to get her to pledge Gamma Delta Phi was a sorority project. Everybody knew she belonged there, and everybody tried, but couldn't get her in the front door, much less to pledge.

Chapter 1 - Naomi uses a special talent.

Naomi drove to the truck stop without her siren blaring, because she didn't want to let the offender know that she was coming. As she drove along the highway, she saw a green, 1998 Ford sedan parked on the shoulder, just a little ways away from the truck stop. Naomi drove in to the truck stop, and Jim O'Donnell went to tell her what the situation was.

Her Mother's Daughter - Chapter 11

Chapter XI - Pledging Emily

After we were finished talking, Kendra went to her room, and I got ready for bed. This day had really been a good one for me. Paul took us out to dinner, and then took me to see one of my favorite movies. But I knew this movie by heart, and almost every line too. So it wasn't hard for me to just wander in my thoughts about Emily.

Chapter 1 - Just a little talk at Naomi's place.

As they were sitting there, enjoying their repast, Ms. Wells, the Home's superintendent came in the house.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have received a notice. Rachel, you and your mother are being subpoenaed to court in Alameda County for the trial of Scott Derrick Watkins. You are to be there Monday morning, at nine o'clock. I'm sure your mother has received her notice, too."

"But, tomorrow is New Year's Eve."

Chapter IX - Mother And Shopping

It was going on midnight, and everybody was making their excuses that they were tired, so all the guests started leaving. Mother came over to me and gave me a big hug, and told me we were going shopping again on Sunday.

"I love to go shopping. Where are we going?"

"Well we need to get you a few more jeans and tops. Winter is going to be here very shortly. This is still fall yet, but very soon it will be very cold. You need warm clothes. So, we are going shopping on Sunday. Besides, now that I have my daughter, I want to dote on her a bit."

Chapter VII - Around the house

I woke up to the sun, and looked at my alarm. I had overslept and missed my morning classes. I wonder what Dr. Hinckle will say when I tell him why I missed his class? I went to use the bathroom, and Ken was just coming out.

"Ken, may I talk with you? I overslept and I don't think Dr. Hinckle is going to like why I missed his class."

"Come on sister, let's talk"

We went to her room, and she sat on her bed, and I sat in her desk chair.

"Ken, what happened last night? How did I get in bed?"

Chapter IV - Getting Ready For The Dance

Mother was standing there taking this all in, and when Paul called me a beautiful woman, mother just had to interject. "Paul that was a very beautiful compliment that you just gave Jean. I know you have been friends for a long time, but what I want to know is, if it came right down to it, would you make Jean your wife?"

Her Mother's Daughter - Chapter 3

Chapter III - The Pledge

I went up to my room, and my roommate was just getting ready to go out. She looked absolutely stunning, and I couldn't help but remark out loud, what I had been thinking.

"You're very beautiful. I wish I could look that good."

Chapter 1 - The final move.

Naomi stopped in front of Renée's house, and they all went inside. Renée, Rachel and Evie were sitting in the living room talking, while Renée's father was packing his toolbox in the garage.

"Well ladies, it looks like this was a successful mission. Where is Carl?"

"In the garage. He said he wanted to take his tools with him."

"Smart idea. I will be good having a man around the house with a few tools."

Chapter 1 - Arriving at Naomi's house.

As they left the restaurant, they started singing On The Road Again, and even Rachel joined in. They reached the county line, and finished the song. Eve was a little concerned about Naomi's safety in dealing with the man in the restaurant.

People Have no faith.

After reading several things about the fanatical religious right, I come to the conclusion that these so-called Christians are the false prophets Jesus talked about that will come in His name. Sodom was not destroyed because the people there had same sex relationships, but because they were lustful about it. There are 10 laws of God we are commanded to obey. These 10 laws are called the Ten Commandments. Things other than the 10 Commandments are from the secular laws of the time and incorporated in to the book we call the holy Bible to make the common people think they are the word of God.

Pine Meadows Home For Adolescent Girls.

Roger was taken from the courtroom, and he had a look of hatred on his face as he passed Renée. Naomi took him to the girls side of the detention center to wait for the deputies that would take him to Pine Meadows. Dressed as he was, the boys side would not have been a good idea. As Naomi turned Roger over to the matron, she was told she had a phone call.

Part V - At the hospital.

Gloria and Mandy just made it to the hospital as the paramedics were taking Ruth in to the Emergency Room entrance. They parked in the ER parking lot, and went in and talked to the receptionist. They were told to have a seat, because the doctor may want to talk to them.

They sat down in the small waiting area, you so commonly see in Emergency Rooms. It seemed to take forever, but then a young nurse came out and called for "family" of Ruth Watkins.
