English was the first class today, and Rachael went to the staff room and waited outside before the first class. Mrs. Cathcart came out of the room, and Rachael walked beside her to the class.

“I’m sorry if I upset you yesterday, Mrs. Cathcart,” she said. “That wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to write a good paper.”

Another night, another stakeout.

"You sure that will work?" said Energia, as Gadgetive hunched over the display built into the dash of the flyer. "We're running out of time, you know."

"Yeah," said the gadgeteer, absently. "That sensor pod I hung on the front hardpoint will detect etheric disturbances. I've already mapped the background and masked it out."

"What if he comes up through the ground, like he has a few times before?" said Blue Impact.

Things were progressing nicely

The topic of the day in 'girl 101' was their wardrobes. Their instructor Marissa had told them that she would be starting to bring in basic items from discount and second hand stores for each of them. By the time they got to school they would all have a decent, if generic wardrobe to build on. First though she wanted to review what she considered a good basic wardrobe.

A Second Chance -- Chapter 3

I have five chapters of this written, so I am going to post daily until the backlog is gone. Hopefully this will allow readers to get into the story easier. The first two chapters have been a bit tumultuous. Until I posted, I had always had the story in one file, and didn't realize how very dark the first chapter was. You will all find the rest of the story more like the second chapter in tone. Cheers: Dawn.

School had just finished for the day, little Billy Ryder walked out to his bike, unlocked it, dropped his bag of books in the carrier and turned the bike around to face the street. He climbed on, not an easy thing to do as he wasn't very big, but eventually he was on it and pedalling away.

CHAPTER 66
We went through the same performance yet again, bobbing up and down as the judge entered and took his seat. I really missed my wife’s presence beside me, her strength being all that had kept me from screaming at the miserable old bigot, but I had boys and girls with me, and that meant I had my own responsibilities to face.
