“I’ve got to get a couple of quick things done for Dad, then get home, clean up, and pick up this extremely pretty lady I’m taking out tonight,” he said, then he kissed me. “I’ll see you around 6:30?”

“Uhmm...yeah, that works. I’ll send my other boyfriend home, and then wait for you.” I said, looking innocent and sweet.

Chapter 8

(Changing perspective slightly from Christian’s view to relay what he could not see)

Captain Donaldson held his plasma cannon up near his shoulder as he caught Margie's arm. "Damn it Margie, why couldn't you wait for all of us?"

"That thing killed my only friend here... I will not let it live another day!" She swung her arm in the direction she was heading, "Don't stop me, Captain! I'm going on...one way or another!"

CHAPTER 22
The Spring came, and far too quickly ran into the beginning of Summer, and that was when I found myself with too much work to do for mooning over boys and their pieces. There were assessments to sit, assignments to write and so much study that I thought I might find pieces of the books leaking from my ears. That was the time I began absolutely to love my giant blond, for he simply left me to study when I needed to, and kissed me when I did not. He was also working very hard to dispose of the extra mass that clothed his frame, and he looked the better for it.

A different take on a well-known classic tale.

This chapter deals with developments while Arfon is keeping a low profile. His forced abscence results in Briony winning an uncontested divorce and the question of custody of the children never arises. Arfon dare not surface because there are warrents out for his arrest.

Briony... Betrayed wife and mother.
Sion... Her eight-year-old son.
Ellairy... Her nine-month--old daughter.
Arfon... Brionys’ abusive and unfaithful husband.
Dave Cadwalloder... Welsh bachelor hill-farmer.
Jenny and Lassie... Daves’ sheepdog bitches.
Laddie... Daves’ sheepdog.

CHAPTER 21
That was the end of winter as far as I was concerned. The actual weather around me was not relevant, because I had that smile to come to each day, and the two months that led to my birthday were filled with laughter and great silliness. It seemed that once I had shown the world whose he was, his shyness evaporated, and there was a curious reaction from the other girls.

Chapter 4

After we had explained what was found on our short trip, the Captain decided that we should return back to the ship and bring it into the valley where the creatures could be examined thoroughly. It was close to the zenith of the twin suns again, and the air was becoming hot and sticky. While we ate a quick lunch, Captain Donaldson asked for any suggestions on what we should do.

Eric was the first to speak up, "I want to go back in there and run a few more tests on those animals, both the live ones and the dead." The Captain nodded.

"I agree with Eric, the more we know about whatever is killing those animals, the better I'll feel." Lunette added, "I don't like knowing that it's only the females being affected."

I was restlessly turning in the night when Molly called.
