(Author's Note: There are 123 presents to open at the Pine Meadows Home For Adolescent Girls, and I will not go through all 21 girls opening their presents. You have to read and digest this chapter to understand why there are so many presents for only 21 girls. Barbara Lynn Terry)

Chapter 1 - The girls continue opening their presents.

"This next present is for Susan Connor." Joy handed Susan her present.

The Purge

The small plastic yellow container with its childproof white top sailed through the air. It was a pill bottle and if you looked hard enough you could make out premarin 1.25mg with the dosage label stating take one pill 3 times daily.

The pill bottle hit the lilac colored wall of the kitchen followed soon after by two more small bottles in a wide pattern no where near the trash container. The person that threw them having never been a athletic person had a really bad aim.

Chelsea grinned as she hugged me. “Hey you!”

Brittany smiled and hugged me next. “So this is where you’ve been hiding, huh? We heard you were in the hospital. How are you feeling?”

“Sore, but getting better. I um... I had surgery to correct my birth defect,” I answered, blushing softly.

“Oh wow,” Chelsea answered. “So does this mean no more hiding in the coaches’ office?”

Chapter 1 - Janice sees her new home.

Tommy drove in the drive way of Shaiya and Janice' new home. They all got out of the car, and Shaiya unlocked the door. There was a small vestibule just inside the door, for hanging coats and putting their boots. After setting their boots under their coats, they went inside the inner door. There was a nice sized foyer that was the size of most living rooms you would find in an apartment in most cities.

Chapter *8.18*

Din Dins

Of course we weren't the only people in the room, my um 'guardians' seemed to know the mixed group of family and friends in residence, introducing me to various people that live in a world so far removed from mine that I doubt they've ever shopped in Aldi.

"Gaby?"

"Oh er sorry Frau Strechau, just admiring the paintings."

CHAPTER48
I stood in the sunflower house, watching the dust dancing in rays of light that shone through the new windows. In just a short time, the damage done that night was vanishing into the house’s history. My neighbours, perhaps shamed by the way they had hidden from the mob, had helped in small ways, and the money that the Blanchards and others had been directed to pay me as compensation had done the rest. Maggie was sitting in my kitchen, her son at her breast, and Matty and Elle were to join us with their small package later that day for a meal in the Spring sun in my garden.

Cider Without Roses 47

CHAPTER 47
The old house was full of laughter and sound now, but I could not share fully in it. Christmas lay ahead, and it would be the first for the child that Rollo was already calling ‘The Conqueror’ in a clear reference to my status as ‘Little Emperor’. I could not face the prospect of the feast, as I had too many dear memories of other ones, better ones.

Evanescence 23

Chapter 23

It’s been a long day and everything since I had started to practice in earnest. Shaun had retreated to his workshop where he was doing Artifice and while I was curious I was too busy trying to get a better grip on myself and my magic.

I had made some water bottles up and a jug of lemonade and a few peanut butter sandwiches and went out into one of the fields and sat with a blanket.

I need to touch my other selves most of them had been magic-users of some kind before I had been and I actually don’t try to bring Antonia up first but Kara.

CHAPTER 46
Once more it was Marck who saved my life. Whatever debt he had ever owed my brother had been repaid in full and more given besides, it seemed, but this was not a payment I had desired. Not to wake, that had been my hope. I had managed to get the cut across the left forearm, but it was hard to use that hand on the right, and the blood made the handle slippery, twisting in my grip. I had to be satisfied with the flow from one arm, and it was painful, of course, but that was the price for my peace.

Chapter 1 - Shaiya stays at the hospital.

"You are more than welcome, sweetie," Shaiya said, giving Janice a kiss on her forehead. It was a gesture of love that Shaiya hadn't shown Janice since she was eleven.

Cider Without Roses 45

CHAPTER 45
I heard the shattering of the glass first in the living room, and only a second later in the kitchen, and understood there were several assailants. This was not the time for courage and confrontation, no longer a matter of rude words at the WC or letters in a newspaper. It was an attack. I thought for a few moments, as more stones came and the shouting started. Whoreson. Cocksucker. Pervert. There were the voices of several men, but there were women, too, and I thought I heard the voice of a child. I had to run, but they were clearly all around, so I seized my wireless telephone and a kitchen knife and ran up my stairs as they began to strike at the door.

Emotional Appraisal

Emotional Appraisal

by Kristina L S

Strength or weakness is sometimes an elastic concept. It's easy to judge at a distance. Should you try to hold on to that fleeting bubble of beauty and joy or human warmth despite the pain that may accompany it?

Cider Without Roses 44

CHAPTER 44
It had started again. Marck told me a few days later that they had found nothing in the way of fingerprints, and so nothing could be taken further. Matty was around the day after that, and he began work immediately, with visits from Elle and my god-daughter, to install a system of television cameras connected to a recording device, as well as some strong external lights that would respond to any motion near them.

Cider Without Roses 43

CHAPTER 43
The meeting with the Direction at the school had, with the benefit of hindsight, been amusing in a very perverse way. Pascale and I had sat down, facing the board of six Directors across a table which bore coffee and small vienneses, and a mantle of politeness and courtesy had been drawn across the affair as a cloak against night chills.

Chapter 1 - Shaiya is very awed by Naomi.

As they came up from the basement, Shaiya noticed Naomi playing a game of Twister with a few of the girls. Shaiya stood there in amazement of this deputy sheriff who puts people in jail and yet has time to help troubled girls have fun. There was laughing and giggling in this game.

As Naomi tripped over herself, Shaiya giggled.

"Naomi, you continuously amaze me. How is it that you have the energy and time to do this?"

"Do what, Shaiya?" Naomi asked, still lying on the floor.

CHAPTER 10
My phone rang, just then, typically before I could make any sort of coherent reply. I checked the number: Karen.

“How’s it going, girl?”

“Just finished. Beaks asked for reports, but we’re all out. Gone for a coffee, like, with the brief”

“Where away?”

“Costa’s. just over the road”

“We’ll be there in five”

I’m floating on air as I get into the house and I’m not going fast but in my new boots I make it all the way into the kitchen to grab something out of the fridge to drink and nibble on while I start my homework.

CHAPTER 42
I remembered my behaviour the last time, that time Benny had departed, and with those memories came certainty. I was not alone; Rollo, Margot, even my parents in the deep South, they were not lost to me, nor me to them. There were Matty and Elle, and sweet Pascale. I astonished myself, because I did not go indoors to weep over the destruction but instead rang my brother.

The New Girl in My Life - Part 2

…It was 7:10 and I had a surprise visitor, Matt Petersen had come to see me with Brianna. He was taken back both by how Bri reacted to me and how much of a girl I was. He shared, “Where is the troublesome boy?”…
Jeff is here and neither he nor I are angels.” Bri gave me a hug saying “Angel.” I could not help but cry…
… if I went to stay with the Petersens it was to stay as Jessie and for now to be their foster child. I would need to visit with her regularly and they wanted me on a hormone blocker for one month.

Cider Without Roses 41

CHAPTER 41
“Who was it, Pascale?”

“It was not Forgeron, but I do believe they may be acquainted. They are from the same part of the city”

“So what must I do?”

She smiled at me, a little sadly, I thought. “Nothing, my sweet. The Directorate of the school, as well as the Mairie, are fully aware of your…situation. The law is the law, and this is France, and it is the law that we follow, no?”

Extra Time 9

CHAPTER 9
“All rise !”

It was finally our day in court, and I had done my level best, together with help from Rach and Larinda, to present as neatly and femininely as possible. Will was beside me, with John Wilkins, as we waited for the formality of the plea.

“Aneurin Wynford Prentice, you are charged…”

Chapter 1 - The girls calm Sharon down.

After Mr. Townsend left, Sharon was still crying because of what she had said out loud. She never wanted any of the girls in the home to know what Dr. Poole had done to her, nor the staff. She had actually been afraid to tell the staff, until Rachel had come to the home. They saw in Rachel a rebel but also a demure young girl that was messed up. They had vowed to help her be the girl she needs to be, while also being her friend and sisters.

CHAPTER 40
The talk in that class began after that next Christmas had passed. It was nothing that was immediately noticed by myself, but when one looks back to an earlier time the vision may often be clearer than it was at that initial moment. It was later that I saw, later in my years that I could place a marker on my calendar and say, yes, that was the instant, that was the beginning.

Understanding Rachel

Understanding Rachel

The phone rang, making Nancy Carmichael jump. The old woman glanced at the call display, and then shouted out, “Rachel! Its for you!”

A moment later another person bustled into the room, took up the phone, and started to talk.

Nancy shook her head. “Who would have thought I would have a teenage girl living in my house at my age? Especially when the girl was born a boy?”

Rachel just smiled at her mother, and kept talking.

Cider Without Roses 39

CHAPTER 39
I walked into the school once more, that September, and it felt right, true. This was where I belonged, what the Lord had made me for. I was so like my mother, for she had found her own place in the world, her own purpose and joy in her kitchens, and I had my children.

That was how it felt, for while my brother and sister would have their own, I had mine to greet each day and send home tired in the afternoon. Pascale was awaiting me in the little place of calm and safety, with a coffee ready.

Extra Time 8

CHAPTER 8
“I beg your pardon?”

She wasn’t like that Sergeant, Kirst, Kirsty…I was having a little trouble keeping my thoughts straight. They had me on some pain-killer or other, and while it was seriously good shit, as my junkie friends might put it if I had any, I needed to keep my concentration to get this right.

“I said no statement. Do you know who exactly is behind this?”

Plastic

Plastic

Danni Chambers reached for the small plastic object on the desk, and then pulled her hand away as if it had been burned.

She put her one hand on top of the other, trying to stop the trembles that started at the tips of her fingers and went all the way to her core.

It was just a piece of plastic, after all, an innocent object. In fact its presence here represented the best news of her life - she was finally whole, complete, and its purpose was to make sure that the newest opening in her body remained .... open.

It takes me awhile to get myself under control under Rudy’s watch he did set me down in a lawn chair and he got me a cup of the pretty decent coffee he had made for breakfast and I sipped at it while getting to watch him work and actually just kind of let this place sink in and sort of displace some of the stuff that’s been built up inside.

There was a train, to the border, and another, in that scruffy place Maman and I had visited, and that train rattled along from the mountains to the flatter areas, streams beneath the tracks that were sometimes dry, sometimes halted in green pools. Eventually we arrived at the edge of the great city, where the train dove under the streets like a dolphin in the waves.

Journey of discovery

my boss had arranged a party to start the summer vacation
the theme he came up with was "dress-up"
not being a party type I had no idea what to dress in
my wife suggested going as a woman.

I looked her straight in the eye and said do you make a joke huh
no she answered , every party people go to they always do the same thing
do something else for once.

I wasn't really looking forward to it dressing up as a woman
but through the persistence of my wife I agreed
but I told my wife I choose the outfit as I didn't want to go as a maid.

(Author's note: In most states of the United States, it is considered attempted murder if you utter the words, "I am going to kill you", or "now I'm going to kill you" or anything along those lines and then you follow that threat by throwing something at the person that can injure them or by hitting them. This is why William Hilts found himself being arrested for felony attempted murder.)

Synopsis: After her father’s funeral, Jessica was approached by her uncle James Roberts. Words were said which resulted in Jessica being assaulted. After seeing Jessica lying on the ground, Scotty completely lost it and beat James so bad that he ended up being hospitalized.

Later that night at the hospital, the police officer assigned to watch James left his post to help the hospital staff deal with an unruly patient, which allowed a mysterious visitor dressed as a nurse to enter James’ room and inject an unknown drug into his IV.

As the contents of the vial begin working their way into his bloodstream, he became completely paralyzed and unable to do anything to resist as the nurse took his pillow and used it to muffle the sound of James’ desperate calls for help. As his body slowly became still, the nurse said the last four words James heard.
