"Emily" by Sarah Lynn Morgan

Just finished reading this delightful, and heart rending story. MY GOD !!! What an epic!!! It was created by a master. I haven't talked to her in years, far too many of them. What ever you are doing Sarah, may you find pleasure in it.

Disclaimer: I am not suicidal.

Years ago, right after I came out, and went through all that happens to us, I was extremely depressed, and hospitalized several times. Such pain and depressive episodes is common amongst those in our community, so I am nothing special, and do not need anyone to call the Police. It was a very fortunate thing that I served in the Military 66-69, so am seen as a Vietnam Era Veteran, so the VA has been very caring of me in most ways. I sometimes feel like an interloper because I did not see combat.

Story Backup

Over the years I have experienced the loss of many of my stories due to the failure of storage media. Lately, I've tried to back things up with portable USB Hard Drives, and Thumb Drives, and all seem to fail eventually. A Story that I started back in the late 70s is still with me because the whole thing was printed out on a Dot Matrix Printer. I hope to eventually get back to work on it.

A Little Help Please?

I can change a clutch on a 50 Ford hay truck, give shots to an ailing farm animal, and change a 300 HP 3 phase electric Motor, but I find computer software to be intimidating.

I'm encouraged and inspired enough to finally finish a story that I started in 2009, Hala's Snow Day. Cowgirl Hala, 2016 was the sequel to it, and I have the rest of it sitting on my Hard Disk in various states of completion. My list of published stories is a right mess and I am sorry for that.

Funny little marks

Sometimes in stories on this site, there are funny little marks in the text. Tonight I was cruising my own old stories to see if that would give me any inspiration and in some of the text, after quotation marks, there was a little square. I don't know where they came from and they were not there when I first published the story.

Just curious.

Why Do Excellent Writers Stop Writing?

Another Writer that I have enjoyed so much was Amethyst. She was working on "Twice Removed" and stopped. Another professional work suddenly abandoned. I hope that whatever she moved on to is satisfying and pays well.

Blessings to you Amethyst, wherever you are.

Snowfall

I think it is likely that Snowfall is one of the most talented and imaginative writers on BCTS, as is evidenced in "The Nightmare Rider" and several of her other works. It seems that her last entry at this site was in September of 2018. I hope that she is still writing and has moved on to greater things. I would be quite pleased to see another of her stories here.

Yes there is the infrequent error in her work, but there is none of the pidjin english writing that I see so often. Yes, her work is a sharp prod to those of us who need it.

The Value of Writing

I was digging through my stories just now and am amazed that several of them have gotten over 100 kudos! Thank you.

One of them, "Balmoral" was published in June last year. :)

I had started to write several other chapters to "Hala's Snow Day", but with RL wearing me down, had sort of abandoned the effort. I hope that the files are still lying where I left them, assuming that Microsoft has not done anything untoward with them. I still dislike the way that win10 manages files, but I have not one single gene of computer nerd in me.

To Interminable war and hatred, and I give love with blessings.

There are a handful of authors here whose stories are sweet and romantic, sometimes with violence and war, and to them, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have blessed my life and brought healing into it. I'll turn Seventy Two tomorrow, and hopefully ,"It is all over but the shouting". As some of you well know, life can be painful and taxing. I hope that we help each other to get through yet another day.

I think that anyone who wants to can follow the "Jazz Story", and it seems to me like there is a lot of hype going on, but to be fair, perhaps she is having problems?

I have never seen a Trans girl look as good and sound as good as her. Is that what a lot of coaching and surgery can do or is she actually Intersex? At any rate, I wish her the best.

I'm a mediocre writer at best, and that fact finally penetrated.

It does appear as if my passion is activism and I spend hours at it every day. Mostly, I blog under a number of different names, about Transgender and Intersex issues, but my real love is researching Belief and the Anthropology of its prehistory. Of course there is the inevitable interference with some Political or Environmental issue, but I won't even attempt to bring any of that in here.

Most Science Fiction is True. :(

I really like reading Science Fiction and T fiction as long as the story is well written and does not beat the T aspect to death.

Archeological and Anthropological research is very interesting, especially in respect to the artifacts of Iran, an Central and South America. Lately it has become abundantly clear that most Science Fiction written in reference to those areas is likely true. "Prometheus" the Movie is especially troubling.

Chilling Experience

Balmoral is the last story I published.

I was re-reading it to provide a diversion, and had gotten to a place in the story where the Heroine of the story, a military combat Veteran, is sending a cryptic message to friends that she has served with in military actions in the Middle East. These friends had a very private secret code they used to get around red tape that prevented their smooth functioning of their duties. It was clear to our protagonist at the time that they were about to be attacked by the bad guys.

British Royal Marines

I am looking for someone to protect a servant (Protagonist) of the Queen while she performs secret work in the Palace. This young woman answers only to Her Majesty. These soldiers must be absolutely reliable. Would that be a British Royal Marine, not a spook?

Would someone be able to give this tale a read for the correctness of British speech, customs, and Royal protocols? At this time I do not think this story will be overly large. Perhaps twenty thousand words? It may be seen as a bit of a parody on the state of the world, and not a criticism of the Royals.

I was going to again read "Deception of Choice" (I think that is the title), written by Itinerant but the story is not listed in that Author's works. (I think Itinerant wrote it). I've looked elsewhere on the Internet and not found it. This story is very important to me because reading it, and "Bike" during the really hard years helped me to not allow things to end badly.

If I've gotten the facts muddled up, can someone help me please?

Credible Characterization of women

Author:

I've been doing a lot of thinking about how to develop a realistic female character. In the press, movies and TV, their all exaggerated so of little value to me. Besides, in real life, what woman runs around with her butt pushed out and her tits threatening to escape their confinement?

Church or the Mosque are rotten places to observe the natural woman, so I've sat in shopping centers to glean what I could.

UK Food

Author:

In re-reading a certain story by a UK Author, I've been exploring authentic recipes of the isles. It was a pleasant surprise to actually discover what a Bacon Sarnie and Chips are. As near as I can tell the bacon used is simply Canadian Bacon between slices of bread. I used very non acid Mayonnaise (can't use anything tomato) and a few sliced pickles. Deep fried "fries" cause me intestinal ructions, so to find baked and seasoned, thickly sliced potatoes in an international store were a pleasant surprise.

Starcraft 2

I was taking a break on YouTube and happened to start a video called StarCraft 2. In the clip, they were involved in some sort of boring space war as usual. The male soldiers were completely covered in this combat Armor while the female soldier was in a form fitting body suit that left her Ass and back completely naked.

Sadly, I think that some of the stories here come as a result of watching those videos, or playing those games, or reading those books, or comics.

Doing an extensive GI to my apartment and find I have two old Computers lying around. Both were working when I shut them down. One is a big ASUS N50V. Laptop. The sticker says it has VISTA in it but I know it has Linux because I bought it from a place that only sells them used with Linux. I'll likely leave the HD, of unknown size in it. I never really learned Linux, so didn't put anything on it.

The other is a Dell XPS 430 with NO hard drive. I'll remove it for security.

Searching for two books

I'm looking for two Science Fiction books that I read "about" 20 years ago. I can not remember if one of the characters was TG or anything.

In the story was a character who had a machine something like a spinning wheel in which they cut the spools of time and spliced it, thus altering time.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Writing Code

I'm thinking of writing a tale about a person of indeterminate gender who mostly lives as a woman. This person supports herself by writing code, sometimes nefariously. The world is well advanced into a threatening Global Warming cycle that has been happening for over three generations, and surprisingly humanity is so pressed to survive that wars and most criminality has stopped, but not before over half the population is gone.

Any Guesses on The Average Age Here?

In the past, I know there were readers and authors here that were prepubescent, and that age ranged up to the very old, like me.

It is not likely that I'll be attempting anything of great length any longer, but short stories feel within my capabilities. I've got several things baking in the oven and I have concerns about the maturity of the stories because of the potentially young readers. Some write some really lurid stories, and some of them may be written by young authors, but that is their concern, not mine.

Recently I saw a Russian made movie about Aliens crashing (After they were shot down by a Russian Cowboy fighter Pilot) in downtown Moscow (?) It was a very good movie in spite of the fact that I do not speak Russian. I am hoping that someone can name the lead Military man, and the girl who fell in love with the Alien. Anything else would be a bonus. I'd rather not simply call them Boris and Natasha.

I am thinking of writing a short fan fiction sequel.

Traveling by bike

For the purposes of a story or perhaps real life, I am wondering how far a rider can push a bike in a day? For my purposes, my bike has been quite nice with the gear ratios being to my liking but perhaps a bit low. My tires are 700 x 32 (what does that even mean?) with a maximum inflation of 75 psi, which I routinely run at 80 psi. It's got a Shimano sprocket set. The frame is one of those crosses between a high bar and a drop frame. I'm very tender, so there will be no high bar frame.

Due to a past broken C-6, I ride upright. 9-11 MPH is fine for me.

So today I was driving along near the Res. and I saw this huge Indian with long black hair, a Police uniform, he was a Sergeant, and all the cop junk on his uniform. Something in me liked what it saw and went Rowrrrr.

No, wait stupid, haven't you been bragging about you're being Celibate?

I thought about it for a while and realized that I did not want to do the nasty with him, I just wanted to crawl up in his lap, curl up and sleep.

Now it all makes sense.

I have been reading Shadows blade's story about Rohanna and find it entertaining. There are, however some unanswered questions.

I think that several Authors have written about Aunghadhail, though I do not remember who. In one story, Aunghadhail is killed. I do not know who originated these tales about Aunghadhail, though in this story it seems possible that Rohanna and Aunghadhail may come to a truce of sorts.

So, my latest story is out, and admittedly I should have split it in two. Perhaps, what I had thought of as my "style", should have had an editor fix it? I don't want my writing to be like it just came out of an English Composition class, so maybe somewhere between? I wanted it to portray speakers that were not English or US folk.

It is obvious that my High School English teacher would be having a fit.

Or can it be that the readership just did not want normal, nonviolent Middle Easterners?

If you are a Veteran of recent Middle Eastern Military action, this might be mildly triggering, but I doubt it. This story has Muslim, Middle Eastern culture in it, but it is not about Islam. Lots of Middle Eastern folk are Christian, Yazidi or not religious at all. This is about an American War Veteran, and a family of Middle Eastern descent. I am hoping that it is romantic and somewhat funny. It is set in the future, near the middle of the 21st century, and might be mildly prophetic. Sometimes the most fun and the greatest reward comes from the oddest places. Enjoy.
