I am only three days into my story of the early days of my husband's development into a "sometime" boy/girl. Earlier chapters tell how it was all at my instigation. Earlier chapters tell readers that I'm sharing this true experience with how we began. I hope other wives may benefit. I'm trying to report happenings on the way whilst also recalling the feelings I had at each stage.

"Oh Jacqui, you are such a dear. Let's go home. . ."

"It's Chang," I said, feeling rather jarred when I heard that come out of my mouth. I sure didn't feel like a Chang.

If the title and plot of this story seem familiar, it's intentional! This is a rewriting of Drabble: Reunion in a slightly more prosaic format (~730 words compared to 100) - which should provide more of a grounding for anyone wishing to continue the tale.

Teaser: I stood on the concourse of Arrivals, nervously awaiting the appearance of Jack. I'd been having second thoughts about this reunion ever since I'd arranged it - after all, a lot can happen in five years, and in my case, a lot had happened in the past five years.

But isn't surgery a drastic step? It would mean the end of John. . .

"You're a maid, Jacqui. You will find your social life among similarly placed people.

"Well, aren’t we special?" she replied, sarcastically. "Poor little Jacqui was kissed by a boy and she’s not happy about it. Perhaps she should become a nun."

"Jacqui, I’ve noticed a change in you over the past few days. Want to tell me about it?"

"I shall take Jacqui to the ball then," he said.
