A young girl was on her first cross-country flight, alone. As the plane taxied down the runway, she became frightened, so she closed her eyes, bowed her head, and began to pray. "We need to talk," Bill stated to his wife, who had just curled up against him on the sofa. Their guests had left and the kids had gone to bed.

Jack, much to Becky's amusement, had gone to sleep in one of her spare nightgowns.

"Don't worry about Jack," Liz stated, "I've already had him tested, he isn't transgendered."

"How? When?" Bill replied.

I apologize for not writing anything new for the last week or so, and especially regarding this story, as I promised to post pieces for this one fairly regularly. I've either been busy of late, or having issues with my sleeping which can be a nuisance, or have been dealing with pain and/or migraines, another nuisance I would happily avoid if it were at all possible. Such is my life, even when I'm fairly happy, it's a PITA. LOL

We arrive at the hospital, it’s about half past 6. I was expecting to head for the same critical care ward that I had seen Amber last. Instead, dad leads me to a different floor. Amber’s condition must have improved. A storm was brewing and Charles Martin Thompson the Third knew it. It was not one that would sweep across the frozen lake he was looking at outside his living room window. No, this storm would be inside the massive house along Lake Minnetonka his family had called home for three generations. Taking a sip from the glass of Scotch in his hand he tried to prepare himself for the night that was approaching. A night where two distinct fronts would move in and change the course of this family for a long time to come.

CHAPTER 58
Harwich was visible from a long way off, or at least the big white reactor dome at Sizewell. There was nothing really visible of England apart from the dome for what seemed like hours, but eventually we were passing the moles or piers or whatever they are called and nosing up to the dock. There was the usual hanging about while sailors did sailor things, and then we were called down to our vehicles. Pete drove, silent that morning, and in a very short while we picked up the first motorway up past Cambridge, leading on to the A1 after a frighteningly busy dual carriageway to Huntingdon.
