I looked at him, the puzzlement plain on his face. Every minute I spent with James was a surprise. At times, he came across as mentally damaged, in the sense of speaking like a small child or someone of profoundly limited intelligence. Other times it took the appearance of OCD, especially in his persistent need to number things, or to say everybody’s name as a greeting. And then…and then there would be a break in his walls, usually when his sense of threat had faded, and there would be a bright, clever boy who very simply couldn’t get past his own mouth. Those were the times when I could see why his current Mum loved him.

I looked at Aunt Holly and once I was dry I took the panties with a shaking hand that was only really partly from my nerves. Aunt Holly turned her back and she let me get myself where I can get them on. That requires that I get up, mostly my arms doing the work and put a dry towel down so I can sit and not get the panties wet from sitting in left over or cast off water.

I got a lot wrong with me that’s a given but there’s something just so…I can’t really describe it actually having permission to wear the things that I’ve always wanted to wear, needed to wear.

This is the first chapter in a story I never finished. I now consider it out of date and won't be updating this storyline specifically, but instead will be working on a rewrite of it! I don't know when or if it will ever come out, but for now, this dusty draft will be kept online for the foreseeable future.

…………………. Sigh….oh Brandon…..I’m crying but not bawling at what just happened and what he said and just everything that just happened. I pull my jacket around myself some more and hug my travel mug more and leave just going for a walk out and over my clearings and stuff. I kind of do have a nice place property wise. I haven’t walked it since I was a young teenager.

It’s so good, I’m drifting in this haze that just is like this…I don’t know it’s that foggy place in dreams like you see on TV. I’m in this hotel room and it’s nice and it’s there’s some soft music playing and I’m in a silk teddy and I hear. “Hey beautiful…” it comes from Kaylee coming out of the bathroom in this skimpy sexy set of lingerie and that’s it.

True to Eva Crowley’s words, the part of Sally that she wanted to forget slowly started to fade from her mind. By the time they had finished setting up for Meghan’s party, almost all of Michael’s memories had faded, and what remained lingered like a dream at best.. The girls were having so much fun with the decorations that they completely lost track of time.

“Crap, we need to get home,” said Sally, looking at her lavender Hello Kitty watch.
