The school was a sight to behold, far beyond anything I had ever imagined. It stood before me, a testament to elven elegance and grandeur, its towers and spires reaching gracefully into the sky. Every detail of the architecture seemed to shimmer with the same fluid design I had come to expect from the elven world, but this place was on a grander scale. As we approached the entrance, I, Sam, couldn't help but feel out of place. The courtyard was a sea of elves—tall, graceful, and otherworldly. I scanned the crowd, hoping to see another human, but there were none.

Chapter 8

And there’s all these people together either dating or married and stuff and I’m kind of feeling left out seeing how happy everyone is and everything together.

“Not that I’d have an idea of how to really be with anyone or anything even if I met someone.”

Yes…yes I’m talking to myself because you do that when you’re alone so much.

Alone, in a new life and way different body and things it’s still the same…hurt and lonely and that makes me feel all fat and ugly and what’s the point and that’s when it hits me.

I get my car and drive around after using my debit card to pay for the stuff at the beach and tip the valet guy five dollars. I’m driving and really trying to not go into a drive thru and just…It’s like this hurt that kind of sinks into that craving rush you get when you ear something good.

That something you like’s rush is what you use to replace the empty spot inside that I’m trying to fill.

I know all of this and yet.

Archetypes chapter 1

Now we get to why chapter 6 of my other tale was a bit late. I debated over how to do this, and finally decided this was the best way. Surprise!

Now to the serious part. I've no idea how it works for other writers (though I have my suspicions) but for me...I hear voices; my muse brings them to me, and they yell in my ear. Min's voice was the most insistent to start with, finally leading me to actually post/publish a story for the first time in years...but min isn't the only voice my muse brings to me. Now that Min has quieted down a little, I can hear the other voices my muse is tormenting me with.

The next most insistent voices are, another Whateley academy story, and this; what I call the ballad of Fu. The other Whateley story I hesitate to even start, as it's dark. Way too dark. So dark it makes a black hole look as bright as the sun dark. I might eventually write it but...dark. Yeah.

So that brings us to this. I thought to myself, if every other writer here has their own universe(it seems), why can't I? So sit back, relax, drink a beer, and enjoy. (note, I am not much for front side exposition in a story, so if you ask what's different about this universe compared to ours, you'll get your answers, just not immediately.)

The next time I took the time to get a better look there was a woman in red standing next to him. They were both removed, maybe a hundred and twenty or thirty feet away, not directly involved in the grave side services but both obviously sneaking glances at the activity.

I should have known better getting close to Adrienne, she was like that, a social butterfly. Before Jeremy, before me, there was Jack, Mark and two guys from the school across town. Adrienne was a real player, I guess I shouldn't have held it against Jeremy but... he was the guy after me, and I've blamed him ever since. I kept making up things about him in my head, and after time, came to believe them.

I see Alecia moving through the crowd and the place is packed…I think I see some people from back in school her and others too. There’s a lot more people here than I though there’d be

She stops in front of a VIP section of the club and she’s talking to this guy that looks like Raphael…but he’s not at the power spot in the table. There’s a very gangland looking guy there Hispanic with lots of tattoos and another to the other side that is vamp pale and he’s smoking meth from a pipe…blood red meth…his eyes vamp over then there’s a shimmer of that green in there and in the eyes of the Hispanic fellow too. His eyes go slitted.

Alecia reaches for something and she pulls out a baggy?

She pours the stuff inside out from the bag and it falls in an ashy swirl.
The music stops and every vamp there just went fangs out.
Oh shit…

The fop guy I’m pretty sure that’s Raphael get’s up and goes for Alecia and they’re into the crowd on the floor snarling. The other vamp gets up to interfere and Jill’s walking in towards them like the effing Terminator with two guns in her hands and she’s shooting the vamp or was until he starts moving fast and the Hispanic guy get’s uhm…scaly…like a snake and rushes Jill. Sloan’s in his grill after tossing a smoke grenade behind the bar?

And all hell’s breaking loose now.

I walk to the place and it’s an old hotel…gothy lookin guard/bouncers and I can feel the touch of thrilling on them…

Dammit this isn’t just a Goth club but this is feeling more and more like a nest. I bare fangs and they open the doors without checking ID or asking for a cover.

The club is actually in the basement…it might have been the bar for the hotel and the convention room but now it’s all one big goth style dance club and there’s a lot of stuff going on and I’m feeling thralls I’m seeing bodies moving around with no electric spark to them at all and there is a definite feeling of…wrong on so, so many levels…I catch a glimpse of someone taking a hit of meth from a pipe but there’s a vampire blood hint to it…and I see the human’s eyes get infused for a second with vampire red then that clouds over and get’s washed away from this shimmer of green…

Oh this is not good.
