Josie and I looked at each other and she said we could. The producer sent a dresser off to the shop to get a pair of totally different gowns for us to change into. We turned to the others.

“Girls,” Josie said. “Edie and I have been playing around with duets using guitar and piano. Allan has got hold of a CD we produced in the stable studio. He wants us to fill in with twenty minutes of duets. It’s nothing like Pixie music.”

“Is it something like you two did in the early days?” Donna asked.

Josie nodded.

The base of operations of the pirates must be found and that will mean that Eriana's scratch force must work together with those of Zebrin. Lucia had made plans for us to go away for the Christmas/New Year break. I’d been so engrossed with running the business and the impending takeover that I'd just grunted when she asked me what I wanted to do for the holidays.

Chapter 8

Wednesday, we finished early, and then went home. Mom had organized a doctor visit, so she and I drove to the clinic. The lady she had booked me to see was very nice after getting over the shock of me not looking much like an Edward George.

I explained how I ended up coming to see her in a dress.

She said that she had seen the TV thing last Wednesday and was already a fan. I then had to undress and get examined. My stuck-on breasts and glued penis caused some consternation.

She asked if it hurt when I got excited.

Author’s side note: I’m now realizing that I probably should proofread these, I’ve made a few mistakes I wish I could correct. Also I thought it would be fun if Luke was more than just attracted to Tom.

A little after 2 am, a restless Luke lay awake, anxious from his growing feelings for his new houseguest. I passed out after counting to thirteen this time. Not a good sign, I thought, drifting into darkness.

The Hero From Another World was overpowered, moving faster and with more strength than anyone in the world, in ways that trivialized combat with enemies... but that doesn't mean he understood how to navigate a foreign culture, much less change the systems within in it he disapproved of.

After gaining the enmity of his former ally Lady Wren, he complains to his rather dumb but kind slave girl Sasha that he'd like to switch places with her and live her comparatively easy life. To his surprise, she does just that-- and it turns out she's not as dumb or as kind as the former Hero thought.

Despite her betrayal and intermittent cruelty, the former Hero becomes convinced to work with her to end slavery as a whole, and becomes enmeshed with a power struggle that lies beneath the surface of the kingdom... even as they struggle with their own identity in their new body and role.
