“I think those books are wrong,” I said dismissively. “Sure, I enjoy being a girl, and Scott likes being me, but he’s not disgusted with being a man like those transsexuals we read about. I think what’s going on with us is more complicated than that. Or maybe simpler. I don’t buy that everybody who isn’t completely masculine or feminine is crazy, either.”

Nearly three weeks had passed since I sent in my application form for what had quickly become known as ‘SYWTBAA’ online and, as time went on, I’d begun to put it further and further toward the back of my mind. In between my work, my meetings with Dr Clarke and my increasingly desperate efforts to keep my family in the dark about ‘Dina Williams,’ the idea of becoming Britain’s next ‘Angel,’ which had been a long shot to begin with, started to look more and more like a fairytale. I had always had a crazy crush on Gerry. I suppose it was because he was like me in many ways – quiet and home loving. I suppose that the big difference was that I was I gay, and while I hoped he was too, he wasn’t.

We met through gaming. We had an online team of three guys and the third guy suggested that we get together and look at playing at a live e-sport event. I guess that Gerry and me came across as more outgoing on line, because when he met us in person he realized that it would never work.

“Then maybe it’s something else. Some feminine side that you’re not letting yourself express... could you maybe be a transsexual?”

 

“A what?” The term “transgender” wouldn’t be coined for decades yet, and “transsexual” wasn’t exactly a household word. I’d never heard of it.

Sasha and Susan’s Mansion, Beverly Hills, California:
“Man, today feels nice.” Sasha was floating around on an innertube in the pool.

All the kids were busy doing their own thing, and it was just Sasha and her wife, Susan. Neither one of them was wearing a swimsuit. They were in their birthday suits, enjoying the sun.

“I agree.” Susan dives into the pool and does a few laps.

Several hours later, Mir'tan and I emerged from our stateroom, refreshed and ready to face the tasks ahead. Our time together was a much-needed respite, allowing us to reconnect and reaffirm our bond.

The ship was alive with purpose, with crew members moving with a determined stride as they fulfilled their duties. We navigated our way to the bridge, exchanging nods and smiles with the crew we passed. The palpable determination among us, a testament to our shared mission, made us feel like a part of a grand cosmic endeavor, something greater than ourselves.

She struck me as being the very height of feminine sophistication as she sat at the bar. She was dressed well, in an expensive dress that was sexy without being slutty, and she wore her soft blonde curls up on top of her head to reveal her slender neck and her ears with pearl drops dangling.

I had been talking to the barman previously and he saw me looking at her.

“She is taken,” he said. “She is waiting for her fiancé – the surgeon who turned her into a woman.”

The next day, the much-anticipated day of Tommy's aunt's wedding arrived. The sun was shining brightly, and there was an air of excitement as the family prepared for the joyous occasion. As the family got ready, Tommy felt a mix of nerves and excitement. He knew that he had an important role to play as the flower girl for his aunt's wedding. Despite feeling a little anxious, he was also eager to take part in the special event.

Once they were finished with the Awakening, Megan took Genesis back out to the living room to teach her some basic magic skills. She didn't do anything too advanced. Megan just had Genesis levitate objects and will some of them to change color.

"Okay, good," Megan said after Genesis had performed her fourth successful levitation of an object. "It seems like you're getting the hang of it."

"That's good," said Genesis. She waved her hand at a nearby notebook, and it floated a few inches off the ground. "So what next?"

Which was worse, stammering or giggling? I couldn’t decide.

"Did you get that?" Cameron asked. "They're asking when you're coming home."

"Oh, jeez," I said, "Put me on the spot, why don't you?"

"Just say you're coming soon," Cameron said. "They're too little to know when you're lying."

It was our honeymoon. We had recently gotten married the Indian traditional way. After the exchange of biodata through intermediaries, my-future-husbands' family had agreed to meet us.

Well, to call him my husband stretches the imagination. Maybe, my would-be-partner-slash-bitch is a more apt description.
